I got a room at the Days Inn which is like 4 blocks from the Convention Center for $103 with tax for Saturday night.

I'm not leaving until Sunday at 6pm. When I sent in my flight stuff, I asked to stay one more day. There are a lot of hotels on the same street as Loews Miami Beach Hotel. I've found stuff between $95 and $140. Or you can get stuff cheaper that's closer to the airport. But I want to be near the beach!

It might be too late to get your return flight changed (or at least for free anyway). Chrisie at the travel agency told me that if you fly American Airlines, they have a thing where you can call and change flights for $25 on the day of depature if they have anything open.

As for me, I've got a friend and his wife driving over from Tampa, so will be staying Saturday night and splitting the cost of a room somewhere else with them. Once I find out what hotel we're staying at, I'll try to post here.

I wouldn't mind staying an extra night but its not something I can afford, unless I can mooch a room off of someone lol

well the hotel thing isnt a big deal..its just the flight issue thats confusing me. You have to send your flight info in??? I dont get it. I have never dealt w/ a travel agent..my gf is an agent for AAA in cali, could I go thru her??

The travel agent that they used to book all our flights should be emailing your flight info any time now. You could contact them back (there will be a name an email on the info) to see if they can switch you or you could even go through the airlines they booked you on yourself if the travel agent can't do anything for you. I'm not sure if there are many available flights left, but I plan on calling to see if I can get on a little bit later of a flight Sunday instead of one leaving at 6:55 AM.

Also, do you guys have spam filters on your email? The sender is something like TRAVEL DESTINATIONS and the subject line is something like "eInvoice" with a date and your last name...

yeah i just got done emailing her..i still havent recieved anything and i dont think its in my junk folder..ima check right now..........nope. nothin. hmm I am overly anxious about all of this! I CANT WAIT!

Well, let me know when you find out your arrival times and stuff.

I think my friend in Tampa was gonna try booking a room for that extra night through hotels.com or something like that so hopefully we'll get a pretty good deal.

I got an email on October 23rd asking me my flight preference. I opted for coming home Sunday instead of Saturday. This is what the email said:

"Arrangements for your flight to Miami on the evening of Thursday, December 14th,
will ensure that you arrive at your hotel on time and in one piece. No events
are scheduled for your first evening, so you will be able to explore the local
area at your leisure.

Events on Friday will include an evening event and a night-time party. No
events are planned for Saturday. Please check the new FAQ for more information:

Your return options are:
A: Saturday early day, soon after my 11AM room checkout
B: Saturday evening, so I can spend the day exploring the area

If I were you, I would email Chrisie at the travel agency. Here email address is chetritc@att.net. I emailed her last week, because I hadn't gotten anything. She got back to me right away and told me that she had sent it to me Nov 10th. My spam filter got it, so I never knew.

What do you mean? You should be flying in something Thursday evening. I guess if there aren't anymore flights from your area it's possible you'll get to Miami Friday morning, but I thought Darren said the goal was to have everyone there way before any of the events. He was the one who sent the email somebody copied above, so you could always post the question to him in the FAQ thread, too.....
