Cingular Blackjack is WACK; need new phone
well, for about two years i had a crummy phone that didnt ecven have a decent screen or a camera. all it did was let me text and talk, so i decided to get the blackjack....
well at first i was like this phone rocks, i could surf the web and play cool musictones and send pics and all that fun stuff. Well yeah it has this awful way of not keeping a charge for crap...it comes with two batteries and a battery charger. well the batteries go dead fast, probably after about two and a half hours they go completely dead and i have to switch them. also the phone freezes up constantly, even when i have all programs closed out. it has barely any memory so i had to buy a 1 gig mini sd card to use with it. Well after all this now im like screw it, im gonna trade it in i am still in my 30 day period...
so what phone should i get fromn Cingular???
I kinda want to get the 8525....
this thread is kind of to vent and kind of just to get some advice and to see if anyone else is mad that they purchased the phone.........
and its really not terrible its just inconvenient, the batterys and all

Anyways i'm still happy with my Sidekick... Never had a problem with it.
iPhone, I must have when it comes out... Price = Cost!
Sony Ericsson W810i
while its not a "smart phone" it does have alot of features. memory stick pro duo slot (the highest i believe is 4gig with an 8gig coming out next month). i love the calendar program it has, its simple but very effective. 2.0mp camera. it has the internet (i havent really used this but i accidentally hit a few things and it led me to a page with the weather and stuff), theres AIM on it, mobile email, remote control feature for bluetooth computers, and a whole lotta stuff for it. oh yeah and did i mention its alot cheaper than a smart phone
edit:
about that iphone..
thats going to cost alot of $$$ cause of the phone itself, along with the whole data plan and stuff. esspecially since alot of web pages in HTML easily take up 1MB, its going to end up being alot of $$ imo. granted i love my mac, but since it is mac you'll be locked down alot to proprietary software by apple and cingular (cant use java apps.. at least thus far). also, i dont remember if it had flash support or not. although the iphone software is upgradable, the hardware isnt; esspecially the battery. poor batt life (imo), only 4gig and 8 gig models with no room for upgrades, and to what i have read so far, a really awkward keyboard (imagine typing on your ipod). so for the time being, as cool as the iphone is, i will have to pass on it

thats another huge complaint for me, the whole missig java apps.....pretty much every good website wherethere is cool vids runs off of it...Youtube, break.com, filecabi.net, you name it, Myspace videos, all that stuff. I guess i got the idea that my phone could do all that stuff and more when i bought it. Should have researched aot more thoroughly. Oh well live and learn huh?
