Doing some work on my wheels
I'll be putting some new hubs on my car, and I saw my steelies are a bit dirty and rusted. My question is should I just clean them the best I can? OR should I jack up all the tires one by one and paint em all?
Let me know what ya'll think. |
powder coat them

Steelies? Ditch them when you buy new tires. Entry level wheels can be had cheap cheap, and will improve the look of your ride. You might be able to get a wheel and time combo for around $600-$800. Shoot, you can get someones old stock non steelies DIRT cheap off here or Ebay for sure. I'm talking like $150 for all 4, maybe $200.
Plus why would you have to jack the car up to paint, if your not taking them off, and already being lazy - just leave the car on the ground and get yourself low. Maybe drink a colt 45 or two, that should get you a little lower to the ground. Another thing, if you get painters tape (blue tape) and a can or two of plasti-dip - you can make your steel wheels any color you want. Just to ask, are you a older xB1 or a newer xB2? And what color is your ride? |
I was thinking that but then I had to think about how much my budget merits, pros and cons, etc. And really all four for $150? I was looking at Motegis..they were like $465 for all four on Amazon. I always have my suspicions with eBay to tell the truth. I'm thinking on keeping my car stock as per suspension due to the ride quality.
I drive a 2004 xA, my ride is dark cherry pearl/wine whatever you want to call it, but it's a deep color. So I'm probably gonna go with either rusted gold wheels or black |
