well, i think it has to of passed federal crash tests, and be smogged or something. you should check your local government department of motor vehicles website for details or a phone number to call.

you might have to register it as a track or show car.

hmm.... i thought Motorex went out of business? but the website still seems to be up..

http://www.motorex.net/ (or are they different from before)

hmm.. i dunno... but if any legal and DOT stuff that can get your car to be legal... they'd know.. be prepared for a hefty price..

I don't believe you until I see pics. Why wouldn't you think about this before buying the car?

Last time i checked, you should ship it to me in texas and then await for the paper work, which typically take anywhere from 6-8month, and then i'll, i mean, we'll ship u the car back.

dude, I would just drive it. It's such a pain to get that thing legalized, especially here in CA.

Trust me it is. Here are some requirements you will need:

For Customs clearance you will need the shipper's or carrier's original bill of lading, the bill of sale, foreign registration, and any other documents covering the vehicle. You will also need written prior approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which will be evident to the Customs inspector at the port of entry in the form of an approval letter from the EPA, or a manufacturer's label in the English language affixed to the car, stating that the vehicle meets all U.S. emission requirements.

Or, you may make arrangements to import your vehicle with an Independent Commercial Importer (ICI). In this case, the ICI will import your vehicle and perform any EPA-required modifications and be responsible for assuring that all EPA requirements have been met. ICIs can only import certain vehicles, however, and in general, their fees are very high.

that is a great idea. go to a junk yard and find the vin off of something like an s chasis or whatever and say it was a restoration/ conversion etc. just if you get caught, i'd hate to be you.

Yea, get it from an old 240sx, I heard that the 240sx have inline 6 cylinder, just like the skyline but no turbo... I guess.... but get the vin number from 240sx and say its a body kit and some mod changes the looks....
