I almost cried!!!
 

Today one of my passengers opened my door right into someone elses vehicle which caused a small nick in my paint on my passenger door. Does anyone know how much this would be to fix?
I have to go into Toyota to have my carpet fixed sometime this week, and I was thinking that after I get the car back to just blame it on them and see if they would fix it for free.

Maybe, but karma's a mutha. You'll probably end up with a bigger dent (or worst) later on.

thats not a good thing to do, you could probably get some touch-up paint, if you want it to be perfect you would have to take it to a body shop and have the whole area re-painted so it would match perfect (a couple of hundred dollars)

Oh jeeze, when you go the dealer ask for some touch up paint, fill it in, if it's real deep use a tooth pick to add some depth with the paint. You'd be surprised what touch up paint will do, i put 4 huge scratches on my wife's outback, got some touch up paint from the dealer, we don't even notice any more. Now your car is broken in....

Well I have only had my car for 3 weeks. I dont want to just touch it up I want it fixed.

Plus its only a small scratch, how much do you think it would cost to have fixed?

take it out on your passenger, not the dealer who didn't do anything!

you can spend $15 on touch up and have some with you for the next ding or you could spen $400 and cry even harder the next time :)

Well I did think about that and figured they get paid hourly so its not hurting them. Its just something for them to do when they arent busy and there not losing money.

I would make the passenger pay for it, and take it to the most expensive shop in town

your _____ing :evil: but at least you know who did it, and if you REALLY want to you can make him pay for it ya know~... as for the poor soul who had his door dinged because of your friend... and don't even know who to turn to..... but really, lecture your friend about being more careful... things like that ____es me off as someone already dinged by rear passenger door when I had my car for only 2 days!!!

I kinda fixed it with ding-king but its still not perfect as you can still tell from the reflections

man, it's your friend that messed up your car. _____ and have your friend take that responsibility.

I would but i think the easiest way would be to let the dealership fix it

hey, i worked at an autobody shop for awhile, lemme give u the rundown.

they check ur car in, check the condition. theres a little pad with a drawn car on it and they mark an x where theres scraches blemishes, nicks, brokin stuff before the car comes in. Even take pictures, why?

sometimes ppl blame things on the mechanics which is takin out of there paychecks to be fixed. :twisted: :wink:

i understand man, ur new car got scrached,, but is gonna happen, ppl look for new cars to ding up. thats just the way it is

then about how much would it cost to be fixed?

My gf opened my new tC's door into a metal fence one day..scratch looked big but nothin a little Meguire scratch removal couldn't get..cant even see it now

Normally I'd have to side with my morals and say don't blame the dealership.... but after hearing how much they are charging for the AEM CAI I say make them pay. 450 bucks for the intake and install.... it takes all of 5 min 10 at most to install. how can you justify 200 dollars in labor to put on an intake? the intake can't cost anymore then 250. and they are prolly paying somewhere around 100 (that number may or may not be anywhere near the truth but being in retail i know how much places jack up the price) for them. dealerships really screw you on labor so as far as you screwing them is just karma right :wink:

No matter how bad you make dealerships look by saying they charge too much for services or rip people off... what you suggest above is callled stealing. People who do these things are leeches on society, and if you lie and blame the dealer for what your friend did, you too are a leech. Just keep that in mind.
