unfortunately, you were the victim of some bad luck and an a-hole cop my friend.

Listen to this though...
I got a ticket for window tinting on my last car. I got the ticket AS i was driving to court for another fix it ticket (white rear turn signals). Talk about bad luck

Because it's a violation of federal emissions laws. I kid you not. It wasn't in his jurisdiction, but the vehicle would "legally" fail emissions. And I know people pass emissions without badges all the time, I'm just saying that if the guy wanted to be that big of a douche, he could be. As for the tint, I had that happen about a month ago. A guy I work with told me the whole story about tint in NJ...some cop got killed back in the 80's because he couldn't see that the driver of the vehicle was holding a gun. One cop dies from window tint and the law completely changes, but thousands die from drunk drivers and they continue to do nothing about that. .

^ Seriously!!!

He wrote the ticket for the illegal tint and for the exhaust. Nah they didn't measure anything like they do in Cali, just busted my *****. Usually they just bust your *****, try to shake you up, and let you go with a warning which is what I was hooping for. I am gonna try and read up on the laws here in my state and see what a local city cop can and can't do. Maybe I will find something that will give me a leg to stand on.

Yea, they did the same thing for me when I got my ticket for my tint. Another cop came over and was saying that they should give me a ticket for my CF hood, but then he told me he was just messing with me. I caught a lucky break too, both the cops that approached my car were cool and were both car guys. The best part was that I didn't even have my insurance or registration card with me , but the cop said he hates giving out tickets for people who just don't have the card/new card, so he took my info and said I had 24 hours to prove the car was insured. As long as you don't give the cop a hard time, they will usually be cool about it, unless they're like the one you got... .

Oh yea, the same guy who told me about the cop that got shot in NJ, told me they do the same thing with tint in PA. They either issue a ticket or give you the option of removing it right there. If that happened to me, I would take my sweet time taking it off, and I'd start by removing the door panels to get full access to the glass.

LMAO!!! Yeah that is what I should have done. I have all of the tools in my car. I should have taken it off and taken all long as I possibly could. I could have been a douche too.

I would file a complaint against that cop and fight the ticket. No cop should abuse their power because they were having a bad day/week/life! Sure it might cost more than the ticket, but it would show that you (and others possibly) won't just take their grief.

Find a nice local cop and ask him questions abuot all your tickets. don't let him know you have the tickets, or what car you drive. Just ask him the questions and get his name. I did that with my old car. Some cop was killing me over something stupid, I forgot what, but when I went to court I said the cops name and what he said and they dismissed it.

Might work for you too.
