Default Pet pics

I doubt if any of you have seen my screen name before, I was in on the ground floor with a black xA when they first came out. Modified in the first two weeks into a great little car, my wife got drunk and totaled it before it was a year old... I miss that car and have been thinking about getting another.

On to the pets, click the pics for larger version: You young guys will like this first one... That's my oldest daughter a couple years ago when she took the pic for a school class. Don't ask, she's married now. The cat is Hunter, a feral cat that adopted us a while ago.

This is Bear, he's about 12 and has bad knees, he was dumped on us by his PO. We're just trying to make his last few years better and with as little pain as possible.

This is Shadow, he came from the pound. He was found running loose at about 4 months old. I got him at just about 5 months old. I couldn't resist that face. He was 30lb of ribs and backbone.

This is his favorite thing, hanging out and running in the woods. He's just under a year old and 60lb in this pic taken last April about 50 mi south of the Canadian border in the Idaho mountains.

The back of the car in this pic is jacked up 4 feet off the ground, he's about 16 months old and 90lb in this pic.

He appears to be a mix of Shepherd, Husky and Malamute with possibly a little wolf back a few generations. He displays many personality traits of a wolf hybrid but does not display some of the more common traits like shyness towards people and a strong "prey drive". He likes kids and women as well as all dogs unless they bite him or try to dominate him, Labs seem to try this the most. Both acts will trigger a VERY vicious fight ending with the other dog on it's back with Shadow's jaws around it's neck. He would much rather play than fight though.

I saw your dog on previous posts, nice looking pup. DNA of different breeds can create multiple looks and behaviors. I guess my pup is Shepherd/husky/malamute because they tend to look quite a bit like him from pup to adult. Check out this site: http://www.tamaskan-dog.com/Galleries/Galleries.htm

Tamaskans are bred to look wolfy with no wolf content-Europeans are still nervous about wolfs, stemming from wolf/human conflicts back to the middle ages. Shadow has more brown and white and I'm sure he was not intentionally bred to be a Tamaskan dog but it's the closest mix that I could find.

Husky/shepherd mix do not tend to look like Shadow so I guess there is more in there. I will never know for sure without DNA testing which only recently has the ability to tell the difference between breeds. Until a couple years ago they couldn't tell a full wolf from a Chihuahua! Personally, I don't care what his mix is. He's a great dog with a great personality.

Don't give your animal chocolate.
It's deadly to them.

Rod, shut up.
