Default Ticket for NO front plate in IA !!

So I got my first ticket tonight since almost a year of ownership. I asked him to give me the warning since I told him that my cousins were playing around and took it away while I was trying to get it affixed.
I haven't got a chance to buy a bracket. Would it be a appropriate reason to dismiss the ticket ? How did u guys handle your situation?

Much help would be appreciated.

you don't need a braket, just two holes, i don'g got no bracket.

why don't you zip tie it to your lower grill or something while you wait for your braket?

If you don't want those two little holes in your bumper, just make your own bracket. Shouldn't cost no more than $3 at Home Depot.

Nope, we are not required to have them in the front

Im sorry to say my man, but i will quote someone by saying: " life's not fair, get over it " .

Alot of the bike guys are getting tickets, and the only thing that you should be concerned with is you. If you feel that the local PD is not doing there job, then take it up with a commisioner or Chief of Police. When they ask you why you dont fell there doing there job, say: " because i got a ticket for not having my license plate in the front, and because i dont see anyone else getting a ticket for their exhaust on bikes i dont feel i should pay this! "

How far do you think that will get you? The more you complain, the bigger circle everyone going to put you in because they dont care. Honestly it sucks, and i know were your coming from, but you have to just pay it and play along.

Not every cop can pull over every person doing something wrong, and by giving someone like you thats never had a ticket no break, they may have done that on purpose to make sure you understand, and not do it again.

Best of luck to ya'

Yeah, that's the way things are, but remember: Just because someone else breaks a law (loud exhaust, funky lights, whatever) doesn't give YOU a free pass to break a law, too.

cops are poop holes but for some reason i get away with stuff. In the last 2 years I've gotten pulled over 11 times, got 4 tickets, and charged with 3 (two of wich were reduced to only court fees) So I can't complain.

When I got pulled over for having a headlight out I just played dumb and said I had no idea, and he let me off.
When I got pulled over for no front plate on my old Integra, i just told him "what?! that dang thing must have fell off again..." he goes " I don't believe that. Just get it back on there and you'll be fine.

I don't see what your problem is here. It is the law in Iowa to have a front plate. Same in all the surrounding states. You could always move to Kansas. That's the closest state it isn't required in. Just pay the fine.

If you want to get your fine reduced, go in and say you want to go to court. The clerk will usually be able to get you a reduced fine, the city/county does not want to mess around with forcing officers off the street and into court. Getting the ticket dismissed would be hard.

I think it's like $60-$65, if I remember right. I've had one. All the judge will ask is if you had a plate on the car. Your answer: No. His answer: Pay.
