Vehicle Tracking Bill Introduced in House
A new bill is trying to be passed on motorist so you will be tracked and taxed on whrere you go and how far you drive. If this bill passes you won't be safe in your own vehicle.
They can track your every movement and know where you are at all times. So many taxes are going to forced upon us(the people) within the coming yours I'm afraid to think of what our future will be.
I don't know how many people on this site follow the workings of the government but things are changing in a negative way. I live in florida and I feel like I'm in the U.K. there are so many video cameras being put up under the false pretense of traffic safety and neighborhood safety it's nothing more than cctv. Even in areas with low crime cameras are being put in for what reason only to watch our every movement. I'm 22 soon to be 23 and I guess most people my age aren't even aware of whats really going on in this country.
If any one saw V For Vendetta then you'll understand what I'm getting at. Most people if any who read will say I'm another idiot with conspiracy ideas and I'm un-american but the real facts are there hidden in plain sight it's you who need to step back and look a things in a dfferent light or on a larger scale to see the truth.
I know this a car forum and I shouldn't be getting political but I think we as enthusiast should be worried when we are going to monitored in our own private vehicle and charged for where we drive to on a daily basis.
Chime in because we are all at risk

FYI - I see this thread getting shut down pretty quickly.
However, I'll throw my $0.02 into the bank.
I'm pretty sure they aren't doing it simply to "watch our every movement". With the economy how it is, I'm sure there is more crime sprouting up in unexpected places. With added cameras and all that jazz, if you aren't doing anything wrong, then why get bent out of shape about it? Other than having to throw in an extra few bucks here and there so Joe Blow gets thrown in jail for breaking the law, I don't really see where the problem is.
I think you have legit worries, but really? What are you going to do? You don't legally have to pay taxes.
As far as being taxed on roads and stuff, honestly I think it's bogus. But they have to repair our roads and stuff anyway. I drive to Minneapolis from Des Moines 2x each month, so that's 500 miles round trip, meaning I put 1,000 miles on that road by myself. So I don't really have a problem paying for using things. Yeah it sucks, but it's not really any different than a toll road. It would promote alternate transportation and car-pooling as well.
I'm just going off the top of my head there. I'm sure there are many other pros & cons. But yeah, there are 2 sides for every story, so probably no real reason to only focus on just the bad. *shrug*
