Default Why would somebody buy this muffler?

I mean. What does it even do? What are the benefits over a straight through muffler? Seems like that double bend would just slow the air down causing more back pressure. Someone please enlighten me lol.

Wow now that looks confusing lol. Here's a pic of the full exhaust that was linked header back with a sorta twin loop muffler for anyone that isn't a link clicker. This is an H-pipe/bypass setup actually. This would be a good way to reduce backpressure. If you create too much backpressure in the muffler area the exhaust gases will be forced to use the non-muffled piping. Only issue I see would be turbulence in the piping intersections but you wouldn’t notice that driving. It would only show in passes down the strip but even then only 1/10ths of a second.

Hell I might get a twin loop muffler now that I know the facts. THANKS jct. It was near the end of my day yesterday when I saw that muffler on Ebay so I just posted a thread about it to see what other people thought and so other people can know about it. Before yesterday that was the first I’ve ever seen like it and it sounds like a good solution to people that want semi-quiet idle but be sort of loud at WOT. It’s a good compromise between having a straight pipe loud exhaust or a quiet stock exhaust.

And to think, some people think “The straighter the exhaust, the better it is” lol. (in some instances yes it is I'm just making a joke lol)

I had one a twin loop muffler on my 2008 Civic Si. It gave my exhaust a nice deep tone. I also had Vibrant 4-2-1 catted header with Vibrants ultra quiet resonator.

Same car/year I have (2dr FG2) and Criminaltc on here has one too - Twin loops are great exhausts. If you get a quality one (ie Mugen) they are tuned, and sound like sex. I have the Comptech exhaust since I have all the comptech parts.

You Flashpro and tuned? Vit did my tuning over on 8thcivic.com, Once Vtec engages, the car just sounds so mean.

If it's a double pass muffler, the exhaust would go through the baffling material twice and maybe quiet it down. I like the look.

Unfortunately I no longer have my FG2 (habanero red). She got totaled a few years ago . While I had her I had the aforementioned exhaust setup along with an NST 3 piece pulley set and an Injen SRI. As far as tuning goes, I had the Cobb Tuning Accessport with an OTS tune.
