SLR cleaning and maintenace
 

sooo i know there is plenty of this stuff all over the web but just for fun so people don't have to run though the hundreds of hits on google.
HOW DO YOU GUYS CLEAN YOUR LENS/SENSORS. and what do you use as far as equipment. recommendations would be nice.


i decided id try a kit i saw at best buy and ill be the first to day it was trash! worse 12$ ever im taking it back tomorrow.
in photo class the teacher swears by never using anything that's not lens paper no cloths!!! but all the people i know use microfiber cloth now...i guess hes just old school:biggrin:

i heard those r good when your on the go and need a quick clean but arnt the best method

I've never had to clean my sensor oddly enough. And that's even after getting showered with red dirt at Formula D back in May. I've used that lens pen though. Works great.

i havnt owned a dslr long enough to need to clean the sensor either but my friend has a d300 and some stuff on it wouldnt come off with the cameras sensor clean function. camera shops around here wanted 60~ to clean it. he eneded up ordering a sensor cleaner that comes with some solution and some swabs did it for a fraction of the price.

Copper Hill Kit is the best system, hands down.

I use it to clean my sensors. Very easy and perfect results. I would recommend nothing else. I even use it to clean the mirror, even though people are very afraid of even touching the mirror. Works great.
