What about for aftermarket wheels? Any idea of chances they will work? I am a TPMS noob but I read Tire Rack's description-
The Original Equipment sensors from your Original Equipment wheels may be compatible with the new wheels you selected. Please consult the "Important Notes" link found online for more information or call Tire Rack for assistance.
An inexpensive TPMS repair/rebuild kit is required when sensors are reused.
As an option you may purchase the sensors listed below. They are compatible with both your vehicle's TPMS and the wheel you have selected.

Hmm I've learned that if you're switching wheels with new TPMS, they (or the car actually) would need to be reprogrammed each time there is a new TPMS and shops/dealers charge for that of course. The car only keeps track of 4 at a time. I was thinking about getting new wheels and new TPMS to go with them so that I could keep my old wheels/tires in completely ready condition but I don't think I'll do that now. Since that's the case, if I switched wheel sets, each with different TPMS, they would need to be reprogrammed each time. So I might as well just switch the TPMS over from my current wheels whenever I do get new wheels (and just pay for rebuild kit). Then if I have to switch back to the other wheels for some reason I can just live with the light, or if I really want to have the TPMS switched over. I'm not planning to do winter-summer wheel switching.
I do appreciate the TPMS though. It already helped me out once. I saw it come on, parked and got out and the tire didn't seem really low but I heard the air hissing out so I got it up on a jack ASAP. It was pretty flat shortly after that. That was like a week after I got the car :/
Good luck selling!
