i say coilovers are a lil more easy to install but springs are a pain in the ___. but you can do it, just need a few friends to help you out though. you can rent the spring compressors at auto zone for free with a $40 deposit and you get your money back after you return them. there is a DIY here somewhere in SL.

If you plan to do it yourself... Checkers on Oahu rents out the spring compressors for $6 per day ($50 refundable deposit). Call them fist to reserve it.
Installing springs are a big pain in the a$$ to do yourself. Make sure you have a buddy or 2 around to help you. If one of them has experience with springs, that's a huge help. Remember, SAFETY FIRST!!!
The guys at Eurosport are great too. Give them a call to get a price. They would be more than happy to help you.

if I were to buy springs from the internet, can somebody come to my area in east Honolulu to install my springs for a fee? How much is reasonable???
I don't like having to pay $200 for labor costs (as quoted at that Aiea shop)...along with paying msrp plus shipping costs for the springs.

i'm sure you can find someone who would do it for like half that. check out forumshawaii.net in the toyota/lexus/scion subforum. i would do it, but i'm so busy with school right now, i don't even have time to keep my car clean
