any one need an installer/tuner (houston area)
#21
I went to turbochargers after the new management and so called "tuner" and they sent me a beautiful installed but half a$$ tune... I was tuned by chris and my god its day and night compared to how turbochargers gave me my car! Chris also did my clutch install and beautifly done might I say! I will never go anywhere else! My only downfall is I have no time... but chris works around my schedule and does amazing work! I am proud to say to anyone I am crush tuned!
Don't get me wrong...I wasn't taking up for TC.com, I was only saying that just in case ppl didn't know...Trust me, I have heard a lot of horror stories from the last management and tuner that was over there...

shops have their pitfalls...sometimes unreliable people sneak their way in and bring down the name of the shop. it happens, thats why i got into all this in the first place. tired of hearing horror stories i thought why not get into tuning for myself. Even i would have gotten tuned at turbochargers.com at one point but i had the chance to hang out there while Ace83 was getting tuned. two things turned me off about it all, first i seen the waiver they make you sign stating pretty much they are not liable for anything (that includes blown engines). second i seen Kenny tune a hydra standalone, he only spent roughly an hour on it. sorry but it takes me longer than that to tune a piggy back to a near flawless tune. anyone who rushes a tune should not be trusted IMHO. thats when i decided that it was all on me to tune myself. don't get me wrong, there isn't a shop that does bad work, its the people that don't care enough that do a ____-poor job.
after tuning myself for a few months i thought i had gone as far as i could go with the knowledge i had so i took my car to SGP Racing to see if they could take it further. on one hand they did, i got more power but on the other hand drivability suffered quit a bit. this experience forced me to learn more and perfect my tuning strategy.
now having tuned a few Tc's iv come to the conclusion that a few places just want to get the most money they can from you without providing much in return coupled with lack of knowledge of tuning a tc on the fic.
my best advice i can give you guys is to scout out the shops and people that would end up working on your car, ask questions that pertain to the tc as well as the fic, ask about thier exp, ect.

I actually live in College station but am from Katy originally. I'm currently working on purchasing turbo charger. I know how to install it myself but I would honestly rather have a professional do it so you may hear from me soon about a turbo install and tune.

well i can tell ya that a short shifter along with an act street clutch feels real real good. just ask Marcial about it. I cant remember what shifter he has but when i did his clutch install i took it out for a spin and man those two things togather just felt right.
