Dumb San Antonio Street Racers *pics*

There was a bad accident last night down town... thanks to ppl that are ____in stupid and race in close spots... The guy and the gurl in the Red Eclipse seem to be ok... I don't know how after that bad hit from the back. The guy in the red ecipse was not racing... he was just parked when the stupid SRT neon lost control and hopped over a bump and lost control. The guy that he was racing I beleive it was a black subaru.... they split... they maked sure that the guys in the ecplise were ok, but could not stay so they left. At least they got off and appologize and make sure they were ok

These ppl were lucky, if someone would of been in that back seat, they would of probably not made it. I know this changes my mind on street racing so it might do the same for some else.

Dayamn! It's probably good no one was in the rear seat of that Eclipse.

Basstrack17 03-19-2006 01:44 AM

it's good to see the Eclipse passengers are alright. As you may have read on other threads here ( traffic deaths/racing, etc ); many of us do not condone street racing, but likewise many of us had to learn a lesson the hard way.
If seeing an accident like this stops even one young person from trying this--then it was successful. All you can do is hope it will affect someone beforehand; afterall the pain can reach out much farther then just the victim in the car... thx for posting the pix

how was the neon driver?

Day_Tripper 03-19-2006 02:00 AM

I have no clue... but I hope he is having fun in jail

Well those are some wicked pix. I haven't ran on the street for years, but i still cringe when i see that ( and think back to what I did and how I can sit here right now ). I sure don't brag about what I did, but at least I learned before it was too late. And now having a daughter driving, sights like this just add to my concern everytime they go out on the road. Cuz as it usually seems to happen, it's the innocents who get hurt the most.
thx again for posting all the pix, don't know if you took them or not, but they sure tell a strong story...

that kind of stupidity is why i absolutely love san antonio! its not bad enough that people ride around with two or three kids without child seats. no, (what isn't broken is being actively destroyed) youve got idiots out there who feel it necessary to race in a crowded area without regard to others! i truly dont care how young these racers were, hang em high. and then send em to the M.E.'s office to see just what their stupidity will do to someone else.

you know though, many of us felt "invincible" just as they do now. We lost friends several times, and even seeing the damage first hand, it only stopped us for awhile... in many cases it took time and not a particular incident to get us to mature and realize what the hell we were doing.
Our small suburb ( 8k ) has buried 5 teens this past year. Each was a tragic accident, whether speed, alcohol, or just plain bad luck were involved. I know for a fact that many now do take it to heart, as my daughter did ( there are only so many funerals of friends and classmates you can handle in one year, let alone a lifetime ).
But unfortunately i still hear about close calls and fast running still happening out there.
Not sure what else you can do or say, except pray for family & friends to remain safe.

thank god those people were okay. stupid racers!!

gsRt5 03-19-2006 03:56 AM

First off, thats stupid to even try to race down town......
Like if there is even any room...........
I used to race before when all you got was a ticket.......
But then I learned real quick after 35 days in jail......
Lemme jus say its not all street racers, its jus some.....
We used to find the backroads and then do it, not in the middle of town.....
I dont even drive my gsR...As soon as I do I have a damn cavalier or
neon pull up and want to race......Sometimes I want to just to see them lose
but jail is not worth it.....

Man Am I Glad My Box Is Slow :eyebrow:

Shia 03-19-2006 05:35 AM

i've seen some pretty stupid racers out there. once i was on the freeway... and there were two m3s racing each other but the cop was right next to me when they zipped past him :P

Sam_J84 03-19-2006 07:15 AM
