washington Dc laws about mod cars

hi .. this is my first post... I planning to mod my tc 2005 ...I want to star by the intake, suspension & exhaust... to start!!!

does any one know the laws for mod cars.. about how low I can go and how loud my car can be in washington DC, I ask cause so far I see that almost nobody in DC as mod card.. and I'm wondering what the hell should I do... I dont want to walk into a officer and ask ...

any suggestions?

thanks

Well, you can go as low as you want, no law about that.
I think the exhaust noise is 93 db, but I might be wrong.
I'm not too sure about the whole emission laws.
If you're just getting an axleback, intake, and suspension you'd be fine.

mm that sound good to me...
yeah I wan t the intake suspension (adjustable) but I want a catback not axelback..... any problems on that??

thanka for your help =)

Well, the catback removes the second cat but you might still be able to pass. I know theres some places here that would pass me with full catback, header, downpipe and intake.
You could always put the stock midpipe back on if you don't pass it doesn't take too long to change, then switch it after you pass emissions.

Raceland Full Coilover Kit Scion tC 2005 – 2009......$310.00
on ebay... all 4 of them... any opinions on quality

Jlowe 06-03-2009 06:21 PM

I've never heard of them, good price, but the quality is probably awful. They might give out in a year or so, i'd go with quality ones.

so what would be the best bang for the buck...

if you have Va. tags you can be ticketed for anything that the officer deems not to be stock. I've known people to get ticketed for TRD exhausts.

darknejo 06-04-2009 12:36 PM

I have DC tags and so far I have seen almost no mod cars from DC thats why my concern about the laws and stuff
