I have noticed that a few of the chapters are doing members of the month. We are not that big yet and figured we could do a member of the quarter if we wanted to. I am going to put it out there and you guys can vote on it. I am going to vote, but I am not letting myself be eligible since I obviously do not have one YET. There are several things we should consider in this decision. How much they work on their car, dedication to the chapter, and above all, how they have acted to better our chapter through growth and good publicity. I am going to close this vote on Saturday, so vote before then. I am only including active members which is why Angie Pickens is not in there. I have not figured out what the winner will get, but I am going to come up with something for that.

I think we can pretty much close it for this quarter. The only person that I can think of that has not voted would be Jeff and with the lead that Will has, I do not think anybody else can pass him. I said we would close it tomorrow so it will be official tomorrow.

What I said has a "LOT" to do with the topic at hand. Don't think we have enough members to have this type of thing yet. IMO...

 

That is why it is a member of the quarter instead of member of the month.

 

It seems like a raffle or picking a name out of the hat would be more approriate till we have enough members. Who's to say who it should be? We all do what we can to be good members. I don't live there so it's only natural that I can't compete... and don't really want to compete...

 

so b/c we are small the people who do alot should not be reconized and just draw a name out of a hat? So I guess I will quite doing stuff and comming to meetings b/c I will have just as much as a chance of winning even if I don't do anything v if I do alot.

See, this is the bickering I don't think we need. Who's to say who does the most of what. This sort of thing has always caused riffs between members of ALL the other clubs I've been a part of.
Will, you only read the first part of what I said. It wasn't said to take anything away from what YOU do. True you're right about the drawing a name thing, I was being sarcastic about it.
If Thomas feels like this is a good thing to have a COMPETITION between members then so be it just count me out because there is usually no good that comes of it as far as hurt feelings and that sort of thing.
Now if he wants to have it where people get rewarded for attending all the shows and all the meetings and giving away stuff for that, then fine! Let's NOT make it a popularity contest! Thats all I'm trying to say.

Congratulations Will. You are officially the member of the first quarter of this year. I still do not know what you have won yet, but it is not about the prize. This contest was not a popularity contest and everybody had a chance to win. I also did not start this contest to have bickering go along with it. I am sorry it started that, but I thought everyone was mature enough to be able to have a friendly contest. I guess I was wrong.....
