Default why dont people attend meets & events? POLL

I'm just really curious why people dont go to meets and events. If I knew why, maybe we could make the change and get more attendees.

Are the events not located in a closer area? Do you feel that you dont have enough mods or somthing? I just like getting the scions together, fug how many mods you have, or dont have at all.

Please chime in, it would be great if people took initiative here. This is your chance to remain anonymous if you dont want to come out and say. We cant view who voted.

I honestly have tried to come to a few, but timing and luck got the best of me. We are in the middle of a lot of big projects at work, plus we also support our systems there, so I have spent a good amount of time away. Plus, my girlfriend and her son are moving up, so there have been multiple visits, job searching etc going on. I hope to make it to them soon though..

Timing. My girlfriend and I usually have plans a month ahead of time during the summer. It's fun, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's nice to do nothing or be able to go to events without a huge notice.

As for other people. I don't think they are on this club forum often enough. We have members but it seems the same people are always posting.

Understandable. At least you have zest when it comes to the forums. I think it is this forum that keeps us together. Look at you. It's 9 at night and your posting. Although you do have an rx7 which is quite nice I'm sure. Is it yours, a second car, the wifey?

the meet posting(s) seem dull, like someone was bored and had nothing to do that day so they try to get a meet together. Plus it seems around this time everyone is busy

But it would be nice to actually have one, before school kicks back in (at least for me.)

hmmm maybe we could all go bowling or something like that instead of a bbq. all the car meets i go to everyone has a bbq. we could have a bbq at a lake or something so then we could atleast go swimming or toss a football or something

I honestly don't think any one of those choices are applicable... I make them when life leaves an open window for the time slot. I have cancelled other things to make an event, and tried to keep/ get my family involved...

I would choose timing as my choice if asked. AND iI guess seeing turnout at events plays into whether or not to go to the next one...

Honestly, I never know about them until it's too late!

I'd love to go to them, but I never have time to log into the forum to read what's going on. Lame excuse, I know...but really, if you knew my schedule, you'd understand!

I hope you will keep doing them...but perhaps, if you had a list of email addresses to send a notice to, as well as posting it here for those who read on a regular basis, more people would know. I know if I got an email about a scion event, I'd get it onto my schedule!

Just an idea and my 2 cents...

Jeez you should set up a myspace account or Yahoo Group or something people can join and get email updates. what do you think?

I'd love to draw up a really good, functional MN Scions web site but of course paying customers have top priority...

Depends on the site and the functionality - I charge by project typically. Something like this would probably just $1k and you arrange for CF hosting.

How much is hosting?
If we pay you to do this, we are going to have to ask for a donation from every member. Most club orinted sites do this, MNSC does also. Although its not mandatory.....But I sure as hell cant fork out 1k.

we should do the yahoo! groups - doesn't cost anything I don't think.

I actually have 3 groups that I'm involved with on yahoo! and it's been great...you can set your preferences to get a daily email that has a summary of messages posted, or an email per post...etc.

There is also a calendar to post the different events.

That'd be my vote --- yahoo! group --- perhaps
ScionMinne
or
ScionTwinCities

...something to that effect
