Car Problems , update:7/15/09
 

Car is in the shop again
don't know what to do
and just kind of just waiting for the dealership to call me back on what is happening

went to formula drift on saturday and came back fine
went to build an enclosure the next day and car seems to want to die
loud rattling coming from the head

car has been towed to braintree
oil light came on as well as a CEL

engine was replaced at 50K mile and now car is at 61K and some change
car should still be covered for the 1 yr, 12K mile warranty if anything

i will be ripped sh*t if i get the "this isnt covered by warranty" line

I just called scion corp around 4pm EST so hopefully they can do something for me
I called to complain about having my car fixed less than a year ago and having issues again
1. fax was fixed with no supercharger but i still have the supercharger on my loan payment, payed for a new supercharger also
2. when car was put back together alternator fried because of a loose clip, had to pay for this out of pocket (scion corp said send them the RO and they will reimburse me)
and
3. car right now has about 11K on the new motor and seems to have sh*t the bed

6/10- just got off the phone with scion corp and they are waiting on the regions word of what is going to happen with my car, whether it will be a "warratny" issue. I expressed to scion corp how strongly i feel about the whole situation and how is is affecting me. I told them how active I am on the forums and how much i represent scion as a whole and the dealership.
I missed out last years car show season, and i really dont want to miss out this year

6/12- just got off the phone with Jeanne
bearing not torqued to spec, blance shaft is shreaded
my car is gonna get repaired!!!
hopefully by mid next week

6/17- just received a call, more parts had to be ordered, car will not be back until next week at least.


7/7 - just got a call today saying that parts are shipped in to the dealership and they will start re-assembly of my car, one month since it happened

7/15 - i got the car back today to find myself hearing a squeaking sound when i let off the throttle and also when it's idling. will have to bring it back to the dealership.
-will get car back today, they said it was a motor mount stopper that needed to be lubed

Sorry to hear about that man. Hope all turns out ok.

I'm having some issues myself. This morning I heard what seemed like a boost leak. Then, at lunch it was only boosting in 3rd and 4th. At the end of lunch on the way back to work, it boosted in 2nd. WTF? Maybe there's a leak somewhere that leaks only at times? I dunno lol

Wow, I hope they don't jerk you around and I hope they get the issue fixed.

On my end, I found out my wastegate gasket was leaking badly and the screws came loose. I tightened them but need a new gasket cause there's still a leak. I'm also going to get lockwashers to help prevent them from coming loose in the future cause I've already used loc-tite the last time.

i spoke to one of my insiders and he said it seems pretty hard for toyota to stick this one to me
i dunno we will see i guess
just sad that i represent scion as hard as i do and just get shafted sometimes
not by braintree but toyota in general

holy crap man... what all happened?

bearing inside engine was not torqued to spec and fell inside the engine, balance shaft got chewed up by loose parts inside the engine and here we are

they are still waiting on a bearing to come in, 7/6 and still in the shop
will also have to talk to service manager and possibly the owner b/c the alternator should also be covered from last time because it was an install error not my fault
i feel i shouldnt have to buy the alternator b/c they messed up on the install

got a call today that parts are all in and car is being re-assembled soon

i hope kenny q. is workin on it this time.... he does the best work there.

i received word from an insider that my car is mobile
