thanks for the condolences...the good news is it looks like it's going to get totalled out so I already started shopping for a new one.
In all seriousness, is there any other car on the market that could replace an xb?

Now they are saying that the cars on the West side (my side) have not been damaged. The building is still under city lock down and I am getting so frustrated, I really have no idea if my ride is burnt/smoked or whatever else?
Anyone have any experience with the damage a fire can do if only smoke damage is done?

Smoke damage is more aesthetic than anything, meaning the smell of the car and interior as well as the air filter. other than that the car is pretty air tight (since it wasn't running) when it comes to the mechanical components of the car. Smoke damage is a nuisance but unless the car was next to the fire smoke will not destroy your car.
you can look at this in different ways:
1. No damage to the car, good thing.
2. Car totaled, bad thing BUT new car... very good thing.
3. A little smoke not too bad, it will replace the smell of the car from pine to BBQ chicken, good thing.
you see where I'm going with this? Look at the positive. I know Im not in your shoes but its the best advice one can provide.
hope it helps
