Default Where can I get.... or Who can help....Modify my RS TC

I just picked up a TC, release series #529, yesterday. Now im looking at getting fog lights installed, and possibly a HID kit depending on how that really upgrades the lights. Anyone here in my area by chance know of anyone that can do custom installs and give me ideas what I can do to this car? Like I said, starting with fog lights, and go from there. I will get some sort of tints done, and decals on the car too. Thanks!

Yeah just got it yesterday, the 09 black RS 5.0. I love the looks of it and the idea it already comes with some of the package from the toyota catalog. I know there is much more that can be done to it. Not sure how far I want to go with it, but I want to find someone credible that knows what they are doing that I can get some things done to it. I think its VRD or something, foglights, I was reading in other posts are good... Just need some help on where to look or is anything I want really, available to be put into the tc? I just never had cars that I would be into customizing so this is a first, and I know in other cars, need certain sizes for certain things and some parts of the car can be cut to fit different things. I really dont want the front bumper cut up to get some crazy fog lights, not sure what would fit the car as is now or with little cutting up of the spacing available - or what other options I have whether its adding grills or something....... im clueless! haha.. But im learning from reading through this website and hopefully in a year I'll be on the ball with everything this TC can offer ...

VRD/APT fog lights, just pop out the plastic vents on the bumper and put these in. No cutting or anything and it hooks up the the factory fog light harness that is already on the car.

You said something about stickers, dont know what kind you are talking about but dont put any on your car. Clean and simple is a lot better.

where is a good place to get the VRD fog lights, price-wise and reliability wise. Not too thrilled over the ebay idea but I guess if its a top seller or close to it, it would be worth a shot perhaps, but anyone here have a recommended supplier? I've read in other forums getting from china and stuff like that but I cant find anything googling that specifically is for a 2009 scion tc, seems as everything is up to 2008.

That is where pretty much everybody gets their vrd fog lights, that is where i got mine. He has 100% rating.

All tCs are the same as for body styling so any year will work for body stuff.

Engine stuff you want to get stuff that is for 2007-2009 they are all the same. Dont get anything that is for a 05-06 tc.

if you're looking for an HID set, let me know. I can hook you up with an extremely simple plug and play kit that honestly took me less than fifteen minutes to figure out from scratch. I can get you a better price than everyone else too.

BTW, Welcome to scionlife. It's great to see new people coming and this place has A LOT of great information.

Im thinkin about the HID kit.. Just not sure how much that will enhance the stock lights quite yet, only have had the car 2 days now to decide. And I need to see how all that is installed if it will be something I can figure out or someone else will have to do.

It looks like 80.00 is what he charges? Is that everything I will need and will it be something I can figure out easily to install myself? It says 05-08 SCION TC FOG LIGHT & FOG LAMP... and I have an 09 release series, but this fits all years? Sounds like a good deal for 80.00 seeing the vertex website or something I was looking at is $275 or so..

^^Yes he charges 80 plus 20 for shipping. That is the best deal around. It comes with everything you need to hook them up. Took me like 30 mins to install them. They install just like the OEM fog lights you can get from the dealer except the they are in the little vent area. They will work just fine on an 09. Everything is exactly the same body wise for all the years

Vertex racing is a rip off, the ones from ebay are the exact same.

Sweet... I'll get them and report back hopefully in a week or however long it takes for getting them and then the few minutes to install them as to how it turns out. Looks like 100% rating and everyone is thrilled with going through him so cant go wrong there.

Actually, when you go HID's (which you definitely should) make sure you get them for 2008-2009 because the mechanics of the 2007 are the same but the headlights are different. You have stock projectors (jealous) and we have regular reflector lamps. The bulb size is different. Ebay works wonders especially when you use Pay-Pal to make purchases so no personal information is presented to the seller. Been doing that for years with no problems.

Yea the the headlights a different from 07 to 08-09 and the tail lights are different, forgot to mention that. If you do get a HID kit you want a H11 bulb size.

yea, HID's are extremely sexy. And don't be worried about the install. I was nervous when I went over to my buddies the first time he bought a set because he thought I knew what I was doing. Turns out, I figured it out on the spot and he never knew.
so definitely let me know, and I may be putting together a quick DIY next week when I install mine

im just nervous about hooking up the switch, blowing up my electrical system or something. Will see how it turns out when I get it. Electrical stuff and me normally dont go together but if its just a matter of plug and go and bolt on the switch and somehow hook up to the fog light wiring then it shouldnt be too much of a pain. The fog lights im not too concerned, that should be easy putting into the harness and the front there.. its just, the switch part, the wiring and where it all gets tucked, or is this not the same like I see from other people and other kinds of cars with crazy wiring all over the place.

are you talking about the HID kit for all the wires?? or the fogs?

fogs kind of scared me too, but there isn't any wiring to do if you're talking about the HIDs

both systems are plug and play. no splicing or cutting or anything. the fogs, you just pop off your bumper and there is a harness on the drivers side waiting for you to plug into and inside pull out the panel below your steering wheel (just pops out) and there is a harness there for you to plug into. Pop in the switch to the empty slots and you're done. Headlights just plug into your old harnesses unless they didn't come with TC pigtails. Then you have to splice but it isn't hard at all.

I would say spring the extra cash and go to Mobile HID. I had an issue with mine and he tested them and sent back new ballasts all I had to do was ship them to him. No hassle at all and good guy. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ght=mobile+hid
