Tunnel is all welded in and finished. did the stock tC and LS400 ECU parallel wiring and made a whole new lightweight HVAC box for the heater core.
Sanded and primed the floor pan, and sprayed it with bedliner. getting close to putting on the dash cover and getting the waterfall settled back in.
Then i can put my Corbeau seats back in an fix my harnesses. Just ordered a whole stainless exhaust for a 350Z that I will have to modify to fit.
Should look and function sweet. But before that the fuel system needs to be finished. so far turning out super badass.

Ended up getting the tunnel finished. Took a while and a lot of work but I think it turned out pretty decent. had to make it tall and wide enough for the 300ZX transmission to fit.
Trans out test fitting the column to the new rack.

Got the new 350Z exhaust in looks pretty cool. Was worried about fitment but whatever much easier and cheaper than fabbing a Dual Exhaust from scratch.
Modified the Mid-pipe a bit to make it tuck under the tunnel under the aluminum driveshaft.

almost in, need to mod the headers still but so far looks great.
modded headers (other side looks a lot like this lol)
and it is all done! the headers are bolted in and installed.
all that is left is to plumb in the fuel cell, fuel lines, radiator and hoses. and put the rest of everything back on the car.
very excited.

ran the fuel lines, mounted the cell. wrapped the lines in protective materials. also fine tuned the exhaust placement.

made mounting hardware and a tray for the cell that is welded to the frame.
this is the finished cell with a vent and rollover valve.

made fuel cell straps and installed a new battery box, (Still need to buy a battery).
got the engine bay finished up, intake is done, radiator and hoses are finished. fan and cowl are all installed and hooked up.
effed up carbon hatch, before fixing.
hatch after patches and reglassing. all fixed and soon to get polycarbonate.
the gas tank is wired in, almost done very excited.

carbon hatch is all prepped and installed. turned out pretty decent.
next is modding the hood with some flush hood pins, some small wiring for the wheel speed sensors and reverse light. and then the seats go back in, buy a battery and fluids.
chugging along.

installed flush hood pins onto the cf hood. looks decent.
and finished the ___ end of the car, now to wait until payday for a new battery and fluids.

Well have been fighting an electrical gremlin while trying to start her up. Kept blowing the Am2 30 amp fuse. Turned out the wiring for the starter signal circuit was all effed from the previous owner.
In order to reach it i had to remove the whole manifold to diagnose the issue. Figured it out and the car now cranks over instead of blowing fuses.
When I pulled the manifold and fuel rails off I ended up finding the original injector o rings had gone really bad so i ordered those, they should arrive tonight or tomorrow.
In the meantime i painted the manifold flat black and distressed it so it and the engine covers look like worn metal. (this is with the upper manifold partially bolted down to show what it looks like in the picture.)
I also did the EGR delete mod for the motor. Turned out kinda cool looking.

almost done
Wiring is 95% complete sorting out a couple final issues, the ECU was fried like a drumstick from KFC, I need to wire in a new fuel pump relay circuit as the stock circuit isn't doing well with this pump, and I have a small oil leak from my oil pressure transducer.
I found the capacitors in the LS400 ECU were fried. Car started once but wouldn't do anything after even after a battery reset, so i found newer low ESR capacitors to replace the old electrolytic aluminum caps that has failed.
Making surface mount parts into through hole is interesting lol. Put it back into the car and the car fires right up without hesitation.. but dies after about 3 to 10 seconds even with the pedal depressed.
Going to bridge some leads and see if I can get it to run constant with 12v directly to the relay lead. If so i will wire a new relay into the circuit and run the coil to the ignition for now to get the fuel pump running.
Fix the oil leak and fine tune the TPS sensor on the throttle body.
Hoping its all. The exhaust sounds amazing, very happy.

So there was a circuit issue where the pump was getting enough voltage to start the car but not enough to maintain pressure, so the 1UZ-FE was dying, wired in a relay and all better, she starts every time now.
But "trouble" (my cars name) is very alive and the exhaust sounds insane. I have to fix an oil filter relocation kit leak, and wire in another relay for the fans and the derale temp controller, solve an O2 code (hopefully just a bad O2)
But other than that...gravy. Haven't tried to move it yet as it is still on jack stands. But when the fan controller and leak are fixed its go time.

Fought with a lot of fun CEL issues. Even took the time to replace the capacitors in the ECU as they had failed and caused a lot of issues. They are aluminum electrolytic and I changed them out
For ceramic low ESR surface mount capacitors converted the the older through hole style legs so they can be used. The benefits of this are that the capacitors will never leak again.
These were recommended to me by my friend/boss Todd who is an electronics wiz.
But now the CEL codes are all fixed. Adjusted the front suspension, tightened everything up, and did some front fender adjustments for the front wheels.
Started it up to actually try it out for the first time. Unfortunately the shifter seems to need adjustments but the throttle was crisp and the car does well with the 4.083 geared rear VLSD differential.
Have to fix the shifter issue, after that I will post some picture and videos.

Everything is fixed and running, had a few codes to sort out. one of them being an OBD-I Code 25 (lean issue). turned out the other O2 was bad as well.
Trans wouldn't shift into 2nd, 4th, and reverse. ended up being a snifter height issue so that's fixed.
Sorted everything out, car runs like a champ, handles really good as well. hauls @ss with all the weight reduction and suspension work, and drive train upgrades.
Very happy, here's some pictures of the finished car.
Next mods, aftermarket management, and then Boost.

Amazing! I keep wanting to do this but with an UR or GR series engine to my 2014 car but with Cali being Cali and not knowing a thing about fabrication I wouldn't know when to start.
I've seen a video where Stephan Papadakis talks about having to put braces in his RWD converted drift cars to prevent the chassis from flexing.
Have you experienced anything like that?
