Default Door Speaker upgrade

So, I'm thinking about upgrading my door speakers from the oem's. I want something that will sound good once I get an amp to power them, but sound good on the stock system for now. I want to eventually do the whole system, but going to start with speakers and maybe different subs and continue running my Memphis sub amp. Any suggestions?

I'm asking this in the PNW section because most of you know me, and know what I'm like and I value your input, thanks.

I've been looking at the Infinity Kappas, love them. I have Infinity home theater speakers in the house now, and have a set of RS5000's in the closet, need to replace the surrounds on the mids, have done the woofers already. I've had them for over 20yrs. I love the Kappa subs, look cool and from the reviews I've read, they have excellent sound quality, which is what I'm looking for.

If you plan to run them off the stock head unit, look for speakers with a high sensitivity rating, at least 90db or higher. The higher the sensitivity, the less power is required to drive them to good sound volumes.
I think the Infinity Kappa series mentioned have high sensitivity ratings.

I am very happy with the sound quality of my JL components.

If you want some nice high end quality try Hybrid Audio Technoligies.....their entry level comps are not overly spendy and they are really the best of the best.....they wil be my next set.

JL are great! I've also used Alpine type R components with an amp. My friend is using Focal attached to an amp and they sound magnificent!

What size speakers do you have front and rear?

They take 6 1/2", doing components in the front doors and coaxil in the rear doors.

Looked at some Kicker RS's yesterday at a local shop, sounded nice and the grilles are something I could work with.

My favorites are Soundstream (not sure about their new ones, but old school stuff have been great) and Diamond Audio. Diamonds are a little more spendy, but great speakers. I have also had good luck with Infinity and Pioneer

Shawn, love the new Soundstreams, at least the look. No one around here carries them, closest is Tacoma. I need to go around to a few different audio installers in Portland and see what they carry. the local shop here only carries Alpine, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, Pioneer and JL Audio, so I'm limited to what they have.
