Default Need new tires, what are you running?

OK, as the title states, I'm looking for some new shoes. My Kumhos are down to the wear bars and not as stable as I'd like now. I have over 46,000 miles on them, so happy with that, and they've handled well up to now. Looking at Yokohama YK560's and Goodyear Eagle GT's from Americas Tire as they have a good mileage warrenty on them, but was looking for some input form the locals to see what they run and how they like them. So post up and let me know what you think of your tires and what you think of the ones I'm looking at too if you like, thanks.

I liked my BF Goodrich supersports. Good all season and sticky summer tire. Have not had experience withstand the ones you mentioned.

I'm assuming you want high performance all-seasons?

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus or Bridgestone Potenza RE970 AS.

I currently have the Michelins since the Bridgestones were not out yet when I needed tires. I had the previous gen of the Bridgestones, the RE960 AS and really liked them.

Both grip great in the rain. The Michelins ride a little better, but I preferred the stiffer sidewalls of the Bridgestones.

America's Tire carries both tires.

Good news for you then, Toyo just released the Proxes 4 Plus. Offering you better all season performance with longer treadlife. I'd highly recommend them, and other that I have heard alot of good things about the Michelin Pilot A/s and the Kumho Ecsta 4x.

After pricing tires at the local shops including Schwabs, and Tire Factory, I've decided to head south and hit up Discount Tire in Beaverton. I can get Continental Extreme Contact DWS's for less than the Zexius that Schwab offers. I've been real happy with my Kumho's, over 46K on them and just now at the wear bars. I would buy them again. Just want to get a tire with a warrenty, and the Conti's have a 50K one. Out the door for less than $650, rollin'.

Thanks for everyones input. There are a lot of good tires out there now, makes it hard to decide, lol.

Conti DWS's are nice but if you sense any leakage take them in immediately. My brother had one go flat and the sidewall collapsed after 10k miles. He had to get a replacement. Checkout the VW/Audi and BMW forums for more info since a lot of those guys run them. From what I see they are hit or miss. However, I'm running contiprocontacts on my A4 and haven't had any issues so far.

Yeah, I've read a bunch of reviews on different sites and most sites gave them very high ratings, Tire Rack did a comparison test with Birdgestone R970's, Mich. Pilots, Parelli P-Zeros and they rated right up there in all conditions, video on youtube. I've read to poor reviews too, so I will keep an eye on them for sure.

Falkens I had were noisy and had poor traction (Ziex 962), Yokohamas were excellent but expensive (Parada spec -2 & S drives), BF Goodrich I have bought twice because the have worn great, awesome reaction even in snow, and they are inexpensive.

Rob, did you take advantage of this offer?

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...d=622&r=ORPINT

Last time I bought tires it was a couple days before they had an offer similar to this and I went back and they refunded me the difference even though I was outside the promotion period by a couple days. It was the Beaverton Discount Tire also.

Sweet, I'll print it up tomorrow at work. I would've never seen it, thanks Tu. I haven't paid for them yet, just put in the order and set up an appt, pay for them when I get there.

General G"-Max AS-03"s are a good 'bang for the buck' tire too

New tires installed today, quieter and smoother so far. Haven't really taken them out and really pushed them, and I doubt that I ever will push their stickiness. They seem to handle the minor road bumps well, not a harsh thud.
