Default scion iq one of the 50 ugliest cars in the past 50 years

okay so i don't personally think this car is that ugly? but what does its looks have to do with safety> which is what i ask you first go to the jump and read this little mini article.

http://images.businessweek.com/ss/09...0_years/51.htm

now having read such said article i beg you to define and ask what is the look of safety? and i have shoddily slapped together my version of such a vehicle. the pinnacle of safety a veritable death machine of unstoppable proportions which idiots and the very very aged will drive to the dismay of every other person on the roadway.

the tonka humm-tank 3000 featuring 300 airbags, the "versa-ram" traffic clearing system , and the tread all tank option....so now you know what the look of personal safety is for future reference.

i thought the article/articles was a little "stabby" at our brand considering the person or people who wrote it obviously only like cars that could be sold to the elderly.

So I'd like to get on the waiting list for the Tonka Humm-Tank 3000, but, does it come in black? And can I get the 327 air bag option, or is that only in the automatic? Wait wait wait, does the 900 disc CD changer cost more?

I think it's funny that they were talking about the one-off Five Axis iQ, not the stock bodied one. Huge wheels, exaggerated bumpers... yea, it's a show car/concept. Way to suck, businessweek.

but its still the fact he used the word "CONVEY" which kind of means:
: to impart or communicate by statement, suggestion, gesture, or appearance

so really it has nothing to do with the real safety value of the vehicle, just bothered me because its a damaging statement to a brand and vehicle that some people might find misleading.

no Jason your the reason that not everyone owns a Subaru, a black sheep. and the only reason the sheep is black is because its wearing a most sweet ninja outfit. having personal taste isn't always a bad thing..

I think it looks great. Modern & functional as a daily driver. Does not deserve to be in this category at all.

clearly he knows what he's talking about. Critiquing the concept and he has the Enzo on his "Top 50" list - real credible

My guess is the iQ is going to be very safe,it has uniframe body, airbags everywhere.......honestly if you get hit by an SUV it matters not what you drive, you will probably get hurt badly just on the weight to speed force impacting a person......

And ugly......well ugly is the new black.......the iQ is a very differant looking car,and will in time grow on so many that the want list is gonna be to big for the available cars on lots.......my Yaris is not much bigger than the iQ and it feels safe and fine......I want the iQ for the fuel milage and the way it looks, but by the time it hits the shores there will be the new tC and probably the new 86 out to choose from .......and I do not know what direction I may take

The kid will inherit the Yaris and I will get a nice new car......lol

Aston Martin loved this car enough to create their own version of it. The Cygnet will be a bit more, but it will have all the Aston flare to it.

From what I hear the IQ will be here just behind the new tC.

Well.. while I would LOVE an enzo.. I am still on the fence about if they look good or not. They should be purchased for functionality over looks anyways obviously.. but I dont subscribe to the thought process of "it has a ferrari emblem on it so it HAS to look good" I think most BMW's are boring looking as well for example... not ugly, but boring.. when the "new" look is considered earth changing as far as BMW design... it pretty much shows the total lack of changing things up by the company.

I am not sure the iQ is on my ugliest 50 list.. but it would pretty close. If the smart car wasnt taking up a spot on my list, then the iQ may make it in But neither is as close to the top of the "vomit when I look at them" list for me than cars like the Aztec, the whole string of big-hump looking front fender cars from Hyundai (most of the tiburons, little suvs, etc they built up until recently), honda element, chevy avalanche, etc

But yeah, the article made little sense.. but most dont these days.

"This is what happens when car companies try to be hip. The tiny cabin makes the wheels look gigantic, and the exaggerated front and rear bumpers seem pointless and tacky. Besides, its toy-like body doesn't exactly convey safety."

What an A$$

I p!$$ on the list
