It's just the tC owners, us xA guys are no problem.. but there aren't enough of us to be one and the xB's take the middle ground, OMC 64 years young, others barely 17... quite the diversity here.

Yeah...I used to hang here a bit more than I can now. (I was kidding btw.) For the most part, I see folk being helpful here. Frankly though, there are a bunch of folk who use it as a Starbucks as opposed to a Pep Boys, which is cool, but it is what it is....people writing their screenplays. ;)

It has been my experience that drama in any car forum seems to appear when the vehicle(s) being discussed are more readily available to the masses; and inside these instances, people often have more difficulty being civil when discussing certain models within the same manufacturer's line....based sometimes upon the demographic age of the person driving that model.

In a nutshell, it has been my experience that young people driving inexpensive modified/modifiable cars bicker over stupid $#!+ more than older people with more means.

Tongue in cheek or not, I think you hit the nail on the head with that.

I won't single out any particular group of owners, but it is interesting, especially from a moderator's viewpoint, the difference in the tenor of the posts based on Scion model.

I'm very curious as to how the two new models, the xD (grown up xA) and the xB2 (tC station wagon), will play out, and if they will be similar to any existing groups or totally different.

From at least one step back, it is very interesting to watch.

Does it seem more laid back around here to you? Or is it too soon to really know?

Trying. Got kinda heated in the "Mac vs PC" thread, but that's an off-topic thread where it just got kinds stupid.
Other threads pertaining to the core of SL I'm enjoying not being defensive and pi$$y.
I think it's spreading. Not like an STD, but more like the Bird Flu

Good for the both of you. I see it this way. In personal interactions, there is no "relationship" per se, only how people "relate". That is to say the "relationship" is merely the perception of the interactions. It isn't a "thing", although we speak of it in those terms. Similarly, there is no "auto forum", only how people relate in a realm where they can interact about specific vehicles.

So, the website "Scionlife" isn't a "thing", it's merely the interactions between the folk who meet to discuss Scions. Therefore, Scionlife is "how Scion folk interact with one another" since it isn't really anything other than that....(well that and the ad revenue)

I have GOT to give up these mushrooms.

(Is the Mac vs PC thread getting out of hand? Discussing religions usually does. I haven't been near that topic for quite a while - do I need to sniff around it to see what's going on, or maybe just lock it - or nuke it from space?)

Nice. Nah, I think it stayed pretty much civil - at least the personal attacks were somewhat veiled in the original topic.
I usually don't go there either any more, but I got sucked in, and well, it went like they all go.

I'll post some pix next week of my Mac Space. Sadly, not M$ free, but Mac all the way!
