RIP Scion
Well, it finally happened. I was T-boned while driving home from work by a 'anonymous name' driver in an autoglass work truck. I am almost certain my car will be totalled out, just take a look at the pics...
And here is how it happened:
I was waiting at the front of the left turn lane at 29th and Federal heading west bound, getting ready to turn south on Federal Blvd. I start up as I get my left turn arrow, and as I'm in the middle of the intersection, I see a van at the very last split second on my left. I think he must have sped up to try to get through the light. The side impact air bags deployed and my car swiveled 90 degrees to face north bound (same way the van was going) and pushed me about 25-30feet. I am sooo thankful that the airbags went off, because I was able to clamber out the passenger side door with only bruises to my knees.
The van got in the right lane as if to stop, but then decided to keep going, leaving a trail of oil behind him. A very nice guy followed in pursuit, as the van pulled a quick right down speer blvd. He followed all they way past mile high stadium and onto I-25 when the van seized up as he had no oil, I presume. There were different police officers involved, so they will piece all the parts together for a full documentation. I can't wait to hear the whole story, but I will let you all know as soon as I hear it.
The lowlife that hit me had no i.d. on him, and he didn't give the police a real name. However it is a work truck so they will eventually get his information. He wasn't drunk, but they suspect he was high on something, because the person that followed him in pursuit saw him swerving as if he were drunk.
I'll let you all know more information as I hear it, but you should all know that I am fine and very very very lucky. If I had started up as soon as the light turned green (and not lazily put it into first like I usually do), I would not be writing this right now.

Foglights were just redone, wheels have been on not even 2 weeks, and the bumper was just resprayed in December. I love this car and modding is a rewarding hobby. But man, what a lot of money down the toilet...

wow, just thinking what could have happened if he hit your door is a scary thought. glad you were able to make it out ok.
hope the guy gets the book thrown at him, if not go after him with a bat down a dark alley.

I can't see the pics here (F%&$ING work firewall) but is there any chance the van was stolen and that's why he didn't give any name or anything? Or was he wearing the glass company uniform and everything and it was his for sure?

Wow, OMG! That's just not right.
I'll echo what others have said above. You know we're there for you if you need help or whatever, k?
Just glad you're okay...that looks really bad.
