Default Rock Chip Damage

hey all,
although not as bad as some others... my xA has some pretty nasty rock chips on the front bumper and hood. theres even one on the a-pillar that went all the way down to the bare metal and its starting to rust. does anyone have any expirience with a good bodyshop in the area?

starting to RUST?

get out that bottle of touch up paint that they gave you at the dealership, and put a little puddle in a bottle cap. use a toothpick to paint with, NOT the brush.

bodyshop action will cost you tons, and I know your budget bro.

lmao... i verified it and its $11.49 at stevinson for silver streak mica... i have a tool at home that you pour the touch up paint in this pen thing and you "draw" the touch up paint in the paint chip. its a pain to clean but well worth it. i had it for the silverado... off roading jacks paint all sorts of up, lol

Yeh, I checked the receipts last night, and we paid just over $6 for ours too....I'd say to go to a different dealership to get it if they're going to overcharge you there. Why not go to one of our sponsor/dealers? Like go to Burt or John Elway to get it (make sure they know you're a Scinergy member, since they sponsor the club, and see if they still give you that high of a price quote)....Just a thought.

no i work at a dealership no more than $15 most, it depends on the dealership, if they charge you $30 - $50 they are crooks. And for the chips, avoid tailgating specially on rocky roads, also those damn dump trucks without a cover, AVOID. Also on the highway and local roads during the winter avoid them salt/halite throwing trucks.

well, for most of the chips i've gotten, the only solution would have been to NOT DRIVE.

another great option for colormatched paint (even comes in spray cans!) is http://www.paintscratch .com

I tried a can, and it was perfect. My painting skill are less than that, however.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of Non-Colorado drivers telling us we drive too close to other cars. They dont know that our road are often covered in rocks. How do you stop a rock kicked up from the oncoming side of the road?
Yesterday, I was four cars behind the guy in front of me and I was getting peppered the whole way up I-25.

You must have been parked too close.
