July 4th meet and greet plus fireworks cruise/Tampa Bay

Someone suggested I make a thread on this.

On July 4th, for folks who are around the Tampa Bay Area, we will hold a small afternoon (4PM) meet and greet to avoid the heat, followed by a fireworks cruise.

Location will be Phillippe Park, Clearwater. We will park near Pavilion 6 and use the grill close to the edge of the road, near the kids playground and slightly South of the parking spot reserved for the Deputy Sheriff. We can avoid maximum heat, kids will be in a better mood, and we can avoid some of the crowds. There is a Publix grocery store 10 minutes away at Enterprise and McMullen-Booth Road for folks who want to bring their own food and cook on our grill.

Our tentative plans are to avoid the crowds, light off the grill around 4PM, hang out, eat, talk cars, then set up for the sunset fireworks cruise. We may have a band or DJ at the fireworks spot so the times may be subject to change. If the plans interfere with your work, you should go for the money! We can get together for other events.-Bob

Food update-store location-parking

No cost for park reservation or parking. No cost for cooking supplies.
I will bring the BBQ toolbox.
For folks who want to bring stuff from home and cook on our grill, no problem.

For folks in need of a nearby grocery store, the closest one is at Enterprise and US19 in the North East corner, about 10 minutes from the site at the park. We will have easy in-out, front row parking, right next to the road. Back in, pop your hood. Closed hoods are just another parked car. Open hoods are a meet!

For folks who want to buy something cooked by us, so far we have supplies for 20 people. Anyone else going for option a or b needs to PM me, to be sure you are included.

Real meat burgers with onions, real hot dogs, nothing frozen.
Donate $5 for lunch combos:
a. two hot dogs, bag of chips and drink, or
b. one burger, bag of chips and drink.
Thanks.-Bob

Road tested the burger recipe for July 4th

Last night Lady T and I did a road test so to speak,
on the burger recipe for our July 4th meet and fireworks cruise.

Instead of using watered down ground beef from the grocery store,
or taking the easy way out by getting frozen burgers, we
bought a couple pounds of meat from Cacciatori Brothers in
Town and Country. Not the cheapest, but Lady T is a good cook
and I never argue with a woman..... :)

We mixed some onions, Adobo, and other seasonings
in with the burger meat and put them on the grill.

The test drive was successful. The burgers were great!
I know this is a small gathering of car folks, but I like to eat
and we will use the same recipe on July 4th.

keep the PM's coming and let me know if you are bringing
something from home or going with plan a or plan b.-Bob
