Stereo swap tC/FRS ?
Outsmarted self with FRS...purchased it with base model stereo, avoiding Bespoke cost and junk, wanted to drop the stereo I had in my 2012 tC, upgrade with touch controls (Pioneer CVH-2018ZT), which I like; only to find although all plugs fit,
many functions of the SAT/phone will not work. Scion/Toyota response disappointing 4 someone who just purchased 2 of their cars in less than 5 months; any fixes? local mobile stereo shops are scratching their heads

No fix, as of yet. Have canvassed high end mobile elec stores and when I talk to the puter people they say the issue is receiver software is not designed or constructed to talk to other vehicle components. Seems to be a proprietary issue, just like the cell phone industry needing the right adapter for the latest phone, which sucks. This fits with what Scion people have not been able to tell me other than an overly lawyerlike response of "it's not designed to fit in that car". Not a bad install as all the plugs fit pretty easily, that's what encouraged me to go down that path in 1st place. Oh well, anyone want to buy a nice touchscreen receiver for the tC only ???

Sounds like an install error, or you are missing the right wiring.
all of the radios available in Scions are interchangeable you just need to be sure your plugging everything in correctly with all of the right wiring.
there is a factory conversion cable too that isn't always used apparently.

It was factory installed in my 2012 tC. I can go by the dealer and see if they can print up of original bill of sale which would include that if that's important,
but I would suggest that you contact the Scion Tech representative and make them tell you that this will work in the 2013 model. I would hate for anyone to have to go through what I went through
