As the article says, I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Rumors Schmoomers.... Besides, with the FRS selling like Hot cakes, it'd be HELLA stupid not to at least bring the convertible one to the US. You can't ignore key markets.

Of course there won't be a turbo or convertible FR-S, it would be a convertible or turbo GT-86 and/or BR-Z if it gets done. Don't fall into the hype.

If they were to do it, it's not about the kit itself. It's about what they're going to do to the internals from the factory. For example, the differences between the 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE.

^Exactly. They'll probably change to lower compression pistons for boost application along with other essentials, the boosted engine will not be the same.

Rumors and the desire to see what they do improve on, is what has held me off from buying the 1st gen.

Doesn't necessarily have to be 1st gen, first year maybe second second year production. May get a 1HP bump like the tC1 in year 3 of production lol. Look at the tC2, little conveniences that the tC1 had were removed, guess that was the sacrifice for the 2.5 4-cylinder and 6-speed transmission?
