Newbie here with a limp mode issue..
My son's car a 2016 Scion iM just went in to limp mode today , of course he is a ferry ride away so around 6 hours of travel time lol. Anyways he thinks it's in limp mode (wont go over 2,000 rpm) and the CEL is on.
He said he's been having problems with the battery, it's actually dead right now from starting it on the side of the road. The battery has died on him before if he listens to the radio for any length of time, ETC Could a faulty battery cause the car to go into limp mode? Thanks in advance. ___ |

My son's Scion iM has just had the same problem and has also just had battery issues. Could you let me know the final outcome of your problem and how much it cost to get it fixed? Thanks Al

ECU and scanners won't work if battery is low. Absolutely certain test is to measure directly.
1. battery voltage with everything OFF 2. battery voltage during cranking Those 2 numbers will tell tonne about what problems it may have. |
