Default No driver's arm rest??

I just scanning thru the pics on Autoblog of the iQ in their "iQ Delayed" article and I noticed that there is no driver nor passenger armrest.

WHY? Why does Scion continue to NOT put arm rests on their seats? My buddies Element has them.

I just don't get it.

I fear the day my xB1 ever "dies". I have NOTHING to replace it with. The closest thing is the Cube (sorry, but the xB2 is a bastardization). The iQ seems like an awesome car, but it's so little for so much (figuratively and literally... no arm rests, no cruise control, etc..)

Why do you need arm rests or cruise control on an iQ? Its a city car, its not made for highways, nor anywhere else you would need to be comfortable for any length of time...

After market will probably have add-ons.

x2. The iQ's target field of use is urban commuting. It's more of a supplemental car, not a primary use car as the American car buyer has an average of two cars. The same reasoning is behind the use of electric vehicles such as the Nissan Leaf.

There's an empty space behind the center console that's BEGGING for an after-market cargo bin or an extra 6 cup holders, or a lift-up dual arm rest. Some combo of the above perhaps?

I agree. There is opportunity for some cool options. I would even like an additional power plug for the back seat.

How about this little thing that fits into the center cup holder? If you aim it backwards, it might be in the right position to rest an arm. It has storage too.
