Default Cars.com Reports Toyota FJ Cruiser Significant

Several new car models unveiled by
manufacturers at auto shows over the past two months have generated
significant consumer interest on cars.com, according to the latest Consumer
Search Index.

Leading the list of the largest month-over-month increases were the new
Toyota FJ Cruiser, Dodge Caliber and Saturn Sky. All three were recent
additions to the cars.com website and had a significant amount of consumer
searches in their first month on the site.

Intense media coverage of the Chicago Auto Show, the North American
International Auto Show in Detroit and the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show
helped drive consumer interest in vehicles that received favorable coverage at
the shows.

"The search traffic that is generated for cars unveiled at the various
auto shows is a good barometer of how well the car was received by consumers,"
said Joe Wiesenfelder, senior editor at cars.com. "It's too early to see how
well the searches will translate into sales, but new introductions like the
Toyota FJ Cruiser and Saturn Sky have already generated a significant number
of consumer email leads to dealers."

I love the cost of the FJ and it's features. It really could be a Scion with the whole bang for the buck analysis. Thing is, inside it is horrible and the car outside really is just ho-hum. Sure it is way different then a lot of things out there and will get you looks because people are more interested in the freak show then amazed by the lines of the beauty. Even so, it can't be denied and is a freak vehicle for the money. If I was in that market I'd be spying the new FJ and the new Xterra. That Xterra with the new engine and everything is very nice!

My landlord's got one coming in about a week, fully loaded in black cherry.. he's pretty excited about it. He's also started restoring some of the mid 60's Toyota Landcruiser FJ 40's. They're bad ___; I'd almost rather have one of those with a crate motor and transmission.
