Yes, the current incarnation of the site is actually running a LOT faster and smoother, unless it us under outside attack, Jeremy, by actual measurement.

That is what I thought. I remember on the old site, many days were it took a long time to load, or countless page errors & even one time it seemed like the site was down for a few days. I guess people have short memories! I have actually never noticed the new site being down personally, guess I was just not around when it was!

I think my only complaint on the site is that you have to wait 60 seconds between pm's. When I get 10 pm's in a row that I can answer quickly, it makes it a pain. But I see how it would be effective if a spammer was sending pm's.

I suspect that many of the OG sponsors do not see a corresponding 10 time increase in the ROI or in the quality of the site, especially since some of what we did have, that attracted and maintained membership, is not necessarily working well.

I hope you and Weapon-R hang around and work with your customers here, even if you can't justify the 10X cost for sponsorship.

(Prices are solely IBs responsibility, and any discussion of their pricing has to be taken up directly with them: autoadvertiser@internetbrands.com or 888-879-0146 )

Sorry I can't help with that, Chris.

Honestly, since the change in ownership, we have been disappointed in the level of Service, Site Performance, and cost of being a Sponsor. Value for the dollars spent is the key for us. I hope things improve as time goes on.

The instructions for that are over in the Website Discussion area, Mr-B...

In this case, just go ahead and drop my a PM and let me know what and why.

Take care,

Is anyone else having huge delays in getting from one page to another? All of us here are experiencing large delays while at work and from home from various IP's. It just took me over 9 minutes to access the Sponsored Sales Section and to find the ad I was looking for on page three and to post a reply to it. This happens all the time and again, I'm not seeing the value for dollars spent when we are wasting this much time to do the most basic things. If this is happening to the customers as well, they won't stay to shop, life is just too short. Don't mean to whine, but this is enough of a problem to chase us off this forum.

Thanks for the input. We are having the problems from all our workstations and 3 different home IP's. The delays are the worst I've ever seen and I have gone to all our other forums to see how they compare and we're having no problems on any of them except SL. We have 3 different Internet providers so there's no common denominator there. Don't know, we're a bit lost.

No prob Ken, I am using *** internet here in Tempe Az / high speed and have zero delay. Also at my home about 40 miles away in a different city, I also have *** high speed and zero delay as of last night / early am before I left.

Sounds more like an internet issue rather than an SL issue to me personally but I am no net expert. I have had issues like your with other forums where I was the one that was lagging and delayed big time while other users were cruising away! I was told that it was some kind of access node thing that was causing the issue between myself and the website / forum I was trying to browse. Once they fixed the node "on the ISP side" things were rocking again.

Default Internet delays

It may be something in this area. I'm not a net expert either, but I would think that we would be having the problems on more than just this site. Not sure, though.

Hint: Most of the delays I have seen at ScionLife.com lately have been from the advertising and tracking goodies loading into the pages in the background. Blocking them allows me to move around with near zero delay...

Ken, one of the guys at IB just loaded the same ScionLife.com page from various locations around the US, and as an example, loading it from the Los Angles area averaged three seconds, from the Seattle area six seconds, and from the East Coast fourteen seconds, pretty much showing it a network "problem" based on distance from the ScionLife.com servers.

IB is working on reducing internal delays in their software and servers, but the majority of the delay really does seem more tied to distance...
