Default Dent on hood

Hey guys,

I have had 4 cars prior to the tC, and on all of them, when I get a rock on the hood, the paint would just chip, but the metal won't dent. Sunday morning, I was washing my car, and I noticed a small dent on the hood, with the paint chipped. It's probably the "something" I heard when I was driving home that first hit the hood, and then the windshield.

My point is, the metal used to build the tC sure is really, really weak. Is it only me or does other people have rock "dents" as well?

There are a lot of things related that would make it hard to first instantly say that it's the metal the tC is made of... depends on what it was, how fast you were going, etc.

That said, I don't think I have any actual dents... just the few usual chips.

dont matter what the car is or who manufactured the car, a big rock = dent.

Well, in the other cars that I have had and my current other car, paint just chips. I also notice on the tC, when I wash or wax the car, the metal bends in really easily. While on for example, the Highlander, it's a little harder to bend in, and on the Jetta, it's tough as hell. And yeah, the dent is a lot more bothersome for some reason, even though it's very, very small.

The shape of the body panels might account for some of that flexing and such...

I would say that its the more on the impact and angle of the impact rather than a weak metal on the tc, i havent dented my hood but i have chipped paint and have seen other vehicles with hood dent from rocks which doesnt mean i have a stronger hood

it also doesn't help that the tc is a sort of sports car and is made to "tune" which means all of the body panels will be a little thinner and lighter than the usual car

^^ Yeah, that might be the case. I don't remember hoods being this light.

Damn trucks.
