Full third brake light

I looked at the 3rd brake light assy yesterday and am pretty sure I can make a full light up version, instead of just the center portion. Question is would anyone want to buy them? I'm thinking it'll be about $200, but that'd be for a brand new assy so you wouldn't have to ship yours to me or anything like that, probably also cover the shipping.

**As soon as I get some extra cash I'll do it to mine and post pics.**

I'd pay $75 in a second. Beyond that it's just not worth it to me.

NeveNelEstate 03-13-2006 09:48 PM

The new assembly costs over $100, plus gotta get LEDs, and shipping and all that so...

:ponder:
Clear (like our OEM) or completely red?

WhiteOut 03-13-2006 09:56 PM

I would like to see it b4 i dish it :nope:

NeveNelEstate 03-13-2006 10:03 PM

It'd be red led across the whole thing, evenly spaced

WagenMaster 03-13-2006 10:24 PM

I'm glad someone's looking into doing it, and am looking forward to the pics.
I've never cared for the 3rd brake light on the tC. I think it looks stupid to have only a little bit of it light up :?

Yes, but is the whole brake light clear or red (i'm not refering to the LEDs inside)?

NeveNelEstate 03-13-2006 10:52 PM

sorry it'd look just like it does now, just light up more, if you just want a red light go to Rockblocker.com

O5_TRD_tC 03-14-2006 12:36 AM

I would be interested depending on the quality.

AMMO_tC 03-14-2006 12:38 AM

too much red in my opinion. don't want to look like a circus man! keep it simple.

I ran a 50 inch LED strip along the seam of my chevy truck and it cost me 100.00 for the whole kit........200.00 for LED's that length is a stretch, I would have to see it.
I would like someone to make a replacement for the panel with the scion logo, with the logo shaved.

If you look above you'll see the reasoning I have for the price, and I too want the shaved logo piece, I saw one in CF once but can't remember where plus I'm looking to match my paint not go CF

DynomyteSW 03-14-2006 01:14 AM

i'd need to see pics to justify that price, maybe a core deposit itsn a bad idea if the price drops that 100 bux for the housing

I have no problem paying 200.00 but again I would want to see it.......i saw the C/F peice but it covers the existing the part, which IMO would look tacky, if it replaced it all together that would work for me

Neothin 03-14-2006 01:44 AM

eh, i'm going to pay 20 bucks for some LED's and some wiring and do it myself :D

AMMO_tC 03-14-2006 03:45 AM

sure man. all you need is wire, lcd, a drill and mallet! maybe sum glue. i would need to see sum pics.

NeveNelEstate 03-14-2006 03:53 AM

no drill/mallet...if you are gonna drill holes from the back then you can align them right because some of the bolts are in the way, I've heard about someone doing that andheard it looked bad, but if you're not worried about how it looks then go for it

ProjectD 03-14-2006 04:50 AM

I'd pay 50 bucks plus my orginal third brake light.
