Headlights

I was wondering what kind of lights people are using in their headlights?

I had some PIAA extreme white bulbs and they blew out within a year. I have the stock slyvanias in right now.

If I get HIDs can I adjust them?

adjust them how? i have hid's and they're great. you can't adjust then intensity or anything, but im sure you can adjust the direction of the light.

ya what do you mean by adjust. i have the stock ones for now, but will be upgrading to 6000K HIDs soon

Well if I put HIDs in without a projector I will blind people so I was wondering if I can adjust how high they will shine. I like the look of HIDs but I dont want to blind people

i got 6000k no problem for adjusting!!

SquallLHeart 06-23-2008 01:41 AM

you can only adjust them to an extent... the extraneous glare created from the improper reflector housing is still going to be inevitable

you can slightly reduce it by doing a small adjustment to point it downwards a bit... but you can still only do so much

mmmmm....retrofit :)

silver06 06-23-2008 03:35 AM

I'll just say this. When I had some cool blue 9006 bulbs that I bought from Wal Mart for $20 I got lights flashed at me all the time from passing cars. After I put some 8000K hid's in I haven't been flashed a single time no BS.

The higher the temperature in the HID's the less candle-foot you get. I'm sure that 8000K is a cool color but it will not light up as much as lower temperatures

I would love to retrofit but dont have that kind of money yet or time.

I was thinking about getting HIDs but I will be getting the 3000K for the fogs and maybe 6000k in headlights.

What kind of non-HID bulbs are good?

rvpps2rocks 06-23-2008 01:34 PM

if you get hid's 4300k or 5000k would server you best lumens wise to go with a nice white color. non-hid you could do a 9005 to 9006 conversion and those have an extra 200 lumens i think. all you gotta do is shave of the 2 little tabs on the insde of the bulb connector socket
