tring to paint my engine cover and wanted some advice on what kind of paint i should use....duplicolor engine enamel's the only one i can use? if i use any other kind/type other than those, is the paint going to burn/peel off because of the heat?? please !! lemme know please!!

 

Definitely get Dupli-Color High Temp Engine Enamel. I've had mine painted for over a year with that enamel and it looks like I just painted it yesterday. Depending on colors, there are probably other paints you could use. Just go to your local auto parts store and check them out.

thanks alot guys for your reply but how bout if i want some other color that don't come in engine enamel? can i paint over enamel and clear coat it? what can i do?

 

I would think that if you use some other kind of paint, and spay over it with clear engine enamel, you should be just fine, I dont think you should have any problems

 

do i have to sand the cover, or can i just spray on after cleaning cover?

 

when i did mine, i just cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and then sprayed away
