problem with tailights need help!
 

try to install these tail lights but when i do the fuses for my breaklights and other guages related to that fuse blow. ive replaced the fuse but it will everytime i install again, does anyone know how to fix this problem? need help badly.

only thing i could think of is that i need a stronger fuse or the lights are defective. any ideas?

dont replace the fuse with a higher amp one. you can do damage to a lot of things or even catch the car on fire!! check the taillight wiring amd see if any of the wires are scraping the body of the car, causing a short. or email the seller see f their is a warranty/exchnge program they offer. some E-bay stores are good about things like that.

Are you using the bulbs that came with the car or the taillights?

the more i read the more i realize that yeah those taillites and those projector headlamps are nice looking but they are just a pain.....i much rather pass and wait till toyota themselves come out wit some projectors to get them.......i dont feel like going thru the headech or damaging my car

the bulb is not the problem, there is a harness that goes from leds to the cars wiring some how the l.e.ds are to strong and sorts out the fuse.

it would take a LOT more LEDs to be in that light for it to draw more power to blow the fuse.

do you think about 20 small LEDs would be enough to blow them?

no, im not an expert, but LEDs are extremely low power.
I have had 10 LEDs with a 2 amp fuse and never had any problems with it blowing, regular bulbs use a lot more.

you're connecting it wrong or grounding out somewhere.

i think it maybe grounding out but dont know how to fix it or even know if iot can be fixed. my next bet is to find a tuner shop or electrical store and see what they can do, thanks for input anyway.

i would first check the wiring that you have been messing with. make sure there are no breaks in it.

the problem is really that the harness is wired wrong. i got the same lights and it works fine after switching

did you switch the wires or did you just get a whole new replacement?

just pop the metal part out with a screw driver and switch them

wait, so try this.. if its the 7443 bulb, then you should be able to leave that out and plug in the tail and have the tail/brake/backup should work fine... if your having a problem w/ that aftermarket led bulb, then just put in an amber bulb to see.. as regular halogen's not care about polarity... but this is all hearesay as you have never once said that you put in led turnsignal bulbs.. so, not sure why the whole switching wires thing came into play...?!?!?

no, the led's arent drawing too much... to be honest, that should be a common sense concept by now.. as led's have been out for far too long for someone to think like that... w/ that said, a stock halogen bulb 194 draws 250ma.. that current draw in led's would be = to 7 crap quality led's that are prolly in those cheap tails... there are 20 per side, drawing a max of 3/4 of an amp.. which is gonna be 60+% lower than factory halogen bulb current draw...

so do what i say, put in stock bulbs in the area's that require bulbs.. and plug it in, if it dosent work w/ stock and still blows the fuse, then yes the actual harness is messed, ya need to sifer that.. but if you dont have led swap-outs, then you shouldnt have a problem... if halogen (regular glass bulbs) work, then yes, rewire your 7443 led bulb..
