repainting roof rack
 

so I found this ad on craigslist for a yakima basket which i really wanted for my new rack and he also had some bike attachments. Guy said he wanted $150 which is a awesome deal. When I go to pick it up we start talking and he said he was navy i said i am coast guard, well he goes back and gives me an actual rack and says if it fits it fits if it doesnt i dont care if you sell it. I'm going to go test fit it but it looked like it fits.

It has a lot of fading paint from the sun, has anyone ever tried to repaint these? Was thinking of cleaning it up and selling it or just selling it as i just bought one on here. If anyone has a pic with the rack+basket let me know.

How does the basket work, does it attach to a separate rack, or does it have a rack itself that attaches to the roof? I've seen them on cars before, but dunno how they work. Definitely would've come in handy for my vacation...poor tc was packed full!

Just spray paint it. Then clear coat it

i'll take a picture of the basket it has a locking piece that attaches to 2 points on each bar. The basket and accessories for it were all new, the 2 bike attachments the plastic is worn from the sun. I'll try to plastic polish it out or just tape it off and get that plastic paint.
