Side window replacement/ Scoops?

I'm Looking to remove the two side window on my TC and basically put a scoop in their place, kinda like a roof scoop. Anyone know if they already have such a thing pre-made? Basically i need exact fitment i hate a crap load of body work.

For real? A scoop?

What's wrong with the windows?

its_ikon 05-31-2006 08:21 PM

Hehe...

Here are the eBay decals:

Should at least give you an idea how stupid they would look... vinyl aside.

Borisimo 05-31-2006 09:02 PM

Aren't scoops basically plastic covers over windows? So you wouldn't be removing a window.
What is their purpose anyways? other than obviously blocking out the sun.

speddlysmitt 05-31-2006 09:17 PM

It would be intresting on a black car.

nawww dude, get those scoops for your rear mount engine, keep it cool..

titolito 05-31-2006 09:32 PM

Uhm....something like that (the scoop, not the stickers) may be useful for mid or rear-engine cars.....
...our engine is in the front.

Just thought I'd point that out in case that fact eludes people....

our engine is in the front? omg all these months of trying to check the oil from the hatch, i thought it was under the spare.

MJVsTC 05-31-2006 10:08 PM

My engine is in the back, what are you people talking about. LOL

goingcarcrazy 06-01-2006 03:30 AM

I had my engine custom mounted where the passenger seat would normally go, but I'm a resposible driver so I still buckle it up, works like an engine damper...anyway, if you took the windows out and put scoops, all you'd be doing is creating more drag and a hole in which cold air could escape (I live in Florida, can ya tell?). No scoops, leave those for mustangs and MR-2s.

Eww those are nasty!! I feel ashamed to own a tC that color and have those hideous things installed on the car of my color. :gun:

THansenite 06-01-2006 03:46 AM

My tC's engine is in my hatch...the bad thing is that now I have a nasty hood rattle.

Somnambulated 06-01-2006 03:46 AM

And it would probably whistle like mad. I've had bad pairs of windsheild wipers that whistled LOUD every time I went over 40mph.

If you're dead set on it though, why not try fiberglassing some scoops, paint them, then stick 'em on with 3M tape. At least then if you decide you hate it you can take them off.
