Sunroof question
 

Hey all,

I might have a issue with my sunroof and im just wondering if this is somethen that everyone that has a tC has an issue with. When I have my sunroof open all the way and im going down the road I notice it wobbeling up and down a little bit. More then any other car with a sunroof that I have been in. :tap:

That and now when im going down the road with my music off with the roof open I hear a clunking and ratteling.... :nope: Sad thing is my car only has 4000 miles on it. So is the sunroof shake normal or should I take it in?

How far open is it?

There is the cracked position. Then the 3/4 position. And then fully open.

Your manual recommends not driving at high speeds with it fully open. That's why there's the 3/4 spot that it stops in first. Is this where it's wobbling? Or is it fully open?

I think another thing to take into consideration (though not for noise) is that it's likely much larger than any of the other sunroofs you've had open in previous cars. Bottom line, if you think it's more loose than it should be, have them take a look. Couldn't hurt at least - should be covered by warranty.

Ya I had it all the way open but even at the 3/4 it shakes a tiny bit. Thanks for the info and ill get them to look at it.

did you try to wiggle it at fully open and 3/4 position?

Ive tried a little bit, I didnt want to be to ruff with it but I grabbed the glass section and tried to wiggle it. It didnt move. Maybe its just cause I was on the interstate with it fully open doing 70mph.....ill try not to do that again :P

lol i didnt know the manuel says not to drive fast with it open lol muhh bad i only did it once thow " read the manual damn pot head!!

I drive on the interstate at 70 plus all the time with my sunroof 3/4 open and I never noticed any clunky or rattling. I would take it to the dealer and have them take a look.

^^ That's what you're supposed to do. Sounds like this guy had his ALL the way open.
