VRD grilles problem !

hey guys, one quick question ! i bought VRD grilles off ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...4889&viewitem=
and i juz got them today, and i was trying to put them in, the upper part was smoothly fit in, but the lower didnt fit at all ???
was it becuz of my ground effect kit ?? or because of the product ?
i called the company today, trying to exchange it.
Help me out guys

well what everyone else will tell you, you get what you pay for, but i wouldn't you would have any fitment issues since its a direct replacement. have you looked around the area where its suppose to go to see if your GFX kit blocks it from securing to the bumper?

ack154 10-14-2009 11:46 PM

Ya, those are not VRD grilles, they're generic eBay ones.

What part is not fitting though - got a pic? Did they send you two upper ones?

NaH` 10-15-2009 12:14 AM

I didnt juz get them w/o checking around to know about their fitment....Ive heard ppl have no problem w/ it at all.
I think 1) becuz of the GFX kit block, cuz i couldnt push hard enuf to get it in ? maybe ?
2) the FITMENT of the lower part !!, when i tried to get it in,i found out the clips on the far side are not the same direction w/ the holes on the far sides of the lower grill (bought from ebay) , the clips on the bumper are a bit upper than the grill

sr i dont have any close picture

Well, I bought an e-bay upper grill and I had to shave some of the tabs on the bottom portion to hold the grill in place. The tabs on the bottom prevented the ones on the sides from snappin in.

CreationBeyondRecreation 10-15-2009 04:34 AM

haha, did you turn it the other way? Are you sure you're putting the bottom one on the right way??

LOL, i removed my stock one and painted it black, when I was trying to put it back on, it seriously took me 25 minutes to figure out that the whole time i was trying to put it on upside down. hahaha.

.. i bought the same crap .. the bottom grill is not molded correctly.. they are too bent making the clips not want to stay in place .. so what did i do since i got overly frustrated ...

APOXY'd that S*** to my bumper lol.. problem solved!!!

If you have the oem lip kit you're going to have fitment problems with the bottom vrd grill.

are u sure about that if i have Ground effect kit the lower is not going to fit ?

SE7EN 10-15-2009 10:39 PM

My bad.....you should be fine actually.Try and see if the grill is rubbing on the lip kit.

xxnyangel10xx 10-15-2009 10:53 PM

i have the rs1 front lip but regardless the bottom grill will not fit if you bought it off of ebay... your best bet is to apoxy it unles anyone else has a better idea to make it stay

liltofuboix 10-16-2009 01:38 AM

i think i purchased the same ones and they fit perfectly on mine. u just have to pull hard for them to snap on right. try taking your bumper apart and doing it if not. but i also don't have a gfx kit so i don't know man. gl

CreationBeyondRecreation 10-16-2009 02:12 AM

I just ordered these a day before this thread started...i'll let you know how they fit. I should be getting them tomorrow.

NaH` 10-16-2009 03:40 AM

i talked to the company, they told me to take some pictures of their grille w/ my stock, they said they want to see what wrong w/ it !!! im too lazy to get under to car and get my stock out for juz the picture......
*Creation : does your car have gfx too ??

DJ08tC 10-16-2009 03:43 AM

so you dont want help solving the problem because you are too lazy, that is smart. IF they see the problem they might send you another one for free

NaH` 10-16-2009 03:52 AM

but i dont know if it is becuz of the grill or my gfx !! if it is becuz of my gfx i dont think they're gonna change it or refund.

DJ08tC 10-16-2009 04:12 AM

if is not because of your lip kit, if the stock one fits so should the vrd.
