Mines all messed up and the dealer only gave me one, i do not want to get it at the dealer since everything is over priced. does anybody have any idea where i can get one and around how much i will be needing to spend?

 

well your prob gonna need them to program the key for you anyway, since the keys come with chips for your car

 

ya im in the same boat as u and you can get the keys off ebay but the dealership is going to have to program it and i think its around 50 bucks

 

im actually going to do that flip up key mod. i saw a DIY on here awhile back. some guy bought one of those toyota flip up housing key cases and transferred everything over. though there is like this small chip thing you have to be careful when bringing it over.

 

If you want a new key to use, can't you just get the replacement key (oem syle) off of Ebay and swap the guts from the old into the new one?

do the ones on ebay have the SCION emblem? cant find one with it

 

I only got one key as well. I bought one of those cool stiletto keys for $20 off Ebay.... Ya, the dealership wants to cut the key for $20 and then program the FOB for $75, so now I have this cool key just sitting here, because I don't feel like paying for the cut and program for the time being.

i have seen keys sold at mall kiosks in daly city, ca. im not exactly sure, but i think you dont need to go to the dealer to program a new key, there is a way to program a new key with a combination of opening the door, and twisting the key. can anyone verify this?

 

i found the same key on a web site www.ikeyless.com. they have the same factory keys and remotes for alot less than dealers. you will need to take key to lock smith to be cut and then to dealer for programming. Some scion dealers will reprogram your keys if you tell them you changed the battery and now it doesn;t work.
