06 rev lag / bogging issues (video inside)
As soon as I hit the gas, the butterfly valve opens, lets in air, and makes the sucking sound, but it takes forever to get revs up.
Any idea what could this be?
Video link:
It's always ran like this for me.
Just changed the MAF and it didn't help. The stock airbox had a hole in it, so I got a CAI, and that didn't change anything either.
It isn't as bad once the engine is at full operating temperature, but it still lags.
Other issues (just tossing them in, in case they're related);

- Clutch pedal is very spongy and firm.
- If I give it any gas prior to putting it into first, it will grind.
- If I shift to 3rd gear, from any gear except 2nd, it will grind. So I have to shift sequentially for 3rd gear, and no downshifts either.
- When temperature is cold, car will seem to rubber-band, back and forth while letting the clutch out, when it's warm (weather, or warm engine) it doesn't happen. (i think these are the engine mounts going bad)
- Engine sounds pretty normal for age, at 130k, just noisy valves/timing chain
- All cylinders test between 170 and 180PSI
