06 Scion tC how to check fuel pressure
Hi there!
So a couple of days ago my tC stalled while driving. It had been sitting for 10 minutes before that. I pulled into traffic. It stalled and some dummy lights came on. I put it in park and tried to restart but it wouldn't turn off!!!!
So I pulled onto a side road. After coming to a full stop it jerked really hard and finally cut off. After letting it sit for 10 minutes. Started up and drove fine.
Next day.... I noticed right away that every time I went to stop the car was shaking quite a bit. I was approaching a red light and started to slow down getting ready to stop but then the light turned green
so I went to accelerate and my car wouldn't accelerate. That's when I pulled over and came to a stop. When I tried to start my car again it would turn over but not start.
Trying to check if the fuel pump is bad. A friend of mine who was a chevy tech and will be doing the work on my car but he is not sure how to check the fuel pressure on my Scion.
He can't even hear it turn on but as I kept cranking it, he was able to hear it.
From what I am able to find... there is an access panel to fuel pump under or behind my rear seat?? But need to verify if that's where we can check the fuel pressure. He has gauges, etc... for checking everything.
Check diagnostic codes.... P0717, P2111, P2103 and P2238. Not sure about the speed sensor stuff (but apparently it's super expensive dealer only part). So if I have to get one to get my beloved tC working again I will!
Not sure if this matters but mileage is 149K. Haven't replaced coils / plugs or anything yet but I'm working on that. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

P0717
Input/Turbine Speed Sensor "A" Circuit No Signal
P0717 Check for voltage signal from sensor, clean connections.
P2111: Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Open
- Throttle Body Plate Binding
- Faulty Throttle Actuator
- Throttle Actuator harness is open or shorted
- Throttle Actuator circuit poor electrical connection
At 149K I'd say check it over real well and clean it.
P2103: Throttle Actuator Control Motor Circuit High
- Faulty Throttle Control Motor Relay
- Throttle Control Motor Relay harness is short
- Throttle Control Motor Relay circuit poor electrical connection
P2238: O2 Sensor Positive Current Control Circuit Low
- Faulty Air/Fuel Sensor Bank 1
- Air/Fuel Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
- Air/Fuel Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection
More than likely this code is being thrown because of your throttle body issue.
At 149K it couldn't hurt to throw in new plugs, clean the MAF and the Throttle body real well, clear the codes and restart car. See what codes pop up after that.

Once again, check it over well get your DVM out and clean everything.
