the factory air box in my '08 tc has was appears to be 2 filters. one is an air filter, now a K&N filter, on the bottom half of the air box, the other is a white filter on the top half that does not appear to be removable. What is the second, white filter for?

 

The second filter is a carbon filter - added for emissions purposes. It is removable though and many have taken it out.

 

yea i took mine out. I removed that resonator box too.

 

any increase from removing the resonator box?

 

increase in exhaust sound...pretty much it

well technically the cooler temps was from the other modifications of the gfi. taking out the resonator alone wont do that.

thanks, i appreciate the info. i am going to take out the carbon filter and the resonator. eventually i will get some thermal exhaust rap for the tubing.
