To Anyone who has done Auto to Manual * Help..
Doing a swap wanna know how to get the manual ECU to work on the auto harness.
I know i have to rewire some things. just not sure what. any diagram would help DEARLY. I already messaged a few people with unclear answers
and asked in the stickied thread to no avail. sorry ahead of time for the unnecessary post. I'm doing this soon and need to figure out this last thing.
Thanks.

I was actually wondering this exact thing as well... I have the auto harness, with an auto ecu. Sometimes the auto ecu does weird things - such as pulling timing for shift points, etc - which throws a wrench in tuning the car at times I want to put a manual ecu in - however i dont want to have to switch harness as ive made alot of modifications to the stock auto harness that would take alot of time to move over (my fic is hardwired, ive extended parts of the harness, etc)

Did all the work myself - didnt cost all that much. If you dont count the clutches I went through haha - it was about $1200 Im seriousely thinking about trying just plugging in a manual ecu I have one laying around - so if i nuke it I couldnt really care less My theory so far is the a/t shift solenois wiring and additional a/t wiring is just ran to additional pins which are unused on the manual ecu At least im hoping this is the case

What do you mean by tricking? Learning the new key transponder? Or having the vehicle start without a clutch switch?
Starting can be accomplished by bypassing the second starter relay under the hood basically causing the starter solenoid to be driven directly by the ignition key rather than having the safety relay which interfaces with the clutch switch.
Learning the key to the new ecu involves shorting two pins on the obd2 connector while the key is in the "on" position for like 30 min - theres a thread on it - ill see if i can find it.

Sorry - i forgot, this is not actually learning the key. Its learning the new ecu to the car, and here is how to do it
5. ECU COMMUNICATION ID REGISTRATION
NOTICE:
If the transponder key ECU and/or ECM has been replaced, register the ECU COMMUNICATION
ID to both in order to match their IDs.
The engine cannot be started unless the ECU COMMUNICATION ID matches.
(a) Register the ECU Communication ID
(1) Using SST, connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
SST 09843–18040
(2) Turn the ignition switch ON (do not start the engine) and leave it as is for 30 minutes.
(3) Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect terminals TC and CG.
(4) Check that the engine starts.
All the SST xxxxx is doing is shorting the two terminals - you can do this with a paper clip.

so your saying to learn the new ecu. for me a manual with manual harness.
all i have to do is bridge those to pins with the car in the ON position for 30 min's bypass the one starter relay and call it a day?
i really hope so.

bump anyone? need to know if manual harness and ecu fit with no modification. also if i reprogram the ecu FOR my car and bridge the 2 pins for 30 min in the ON position if my car will be good to go, no cel or starting problems.

If you use the manual wiring harness with manual ecu, yes you will be fine after reprogramming, however you will either need to bypass the clutch switch starter interlock, or wire in a clutch switch for it to start.

So even after you reprogram the ECU you still have to bypass the clutch starter? Basically disabling the driver to press down the clutch to start the car? why do you have to disable it?

ok i know you have to ground the nss. where is it? some people say it's the connector from the old transmission connector and i heard plug under dash, and ecu pinout. im confused. just need to start it don't care if clutch needs to be in or not. would prefer clutch still to be pressed in (don't trust people) lol
