We use the model U241E designate transmission. Get the transmission service manual before you attempt any modification. The Camry, Solara and RAV4 shares the same tranny base, 2.4l auto model of course

No, there isn't a specific tranny upgrade program per se, just mainly component parts or a single upgraded item.

Torque converter, internal clutch packs, valve body, springs and actuator solenoids. These are the perennial items to get in order for the tranny to hold increased torque to approx 550Nm.

Help the info helps

It is thanks. Im planning on boosting in the future and i want something that wont fry my tranny, but still be able to hold real well. Would it make much of a difference on an almost stock car if i upgraded? So ill prolly have to get the parts for those model trannys and put them in, and where whould i be able to get the tranny service manual? If its at the dealer ill prolly just pick one up when i take my car in for new brakes. Thanks

Stock car will have a better overtaking pickup from a cruise and fuel efficiency would improve. This is due to the fact that the stator fins in the torque converter would have been modified in the angle orientation and thus affects the fluid dynamics and torque transfer. Essentially, your cruising speed will now be higher while still at your previous rpms... OR same speed at a lower rpm range, Sweet

So, yes there would be some improvement over stock but its really meant for increased power to justify the cost and labor involved in changing out, mainly TC or SC to beyond 250whp. Another advantage is that you could still brake boost the car on a daily basis and keep everything intact

Gizmo : I would recommend IPT TRANSMISSION for main body works. Torque Converter has to be JMO, the TCon specialist. They are the sole contractor for TRD japan

Not quite clear what you meant but I assume : Forced Induced, 300whp, daily driven, frequent shifting, shifting gears at redline or just prior to it, sometimes WOT from a roll, using downshift frequently to engage engine braking?

If it's the above scenario, your tranny would be intact EXCEPT for the clutch packs which would wear out fast. If you're thinking tranny grenaded.... no it won't the planetary and main sun gear would still be fine. Its your clutches that will burn eventually requiring more often replacements. ATF should be changed out more frequently say every 20k miles if you are going to abuse the tranny like so... You should already have an external stack plated ATF cooler installed when you are at this stage

Proper built auto tranny for 300ish whp? Should last 100k miles easy

Why not? Camry braking system would be the same as tC and should be the pads. For better bite try EBC green stuff or red stuff. But this would yield more brake dust just to let you know.

For rotors, I always recommend slotted only. Forget cross drilled + slots. Gimmicky as they would give you less surface area and this affects your stopping efficiency.

Manually shifting a auto is BAD, I had a friend in a 05 accord go through 2 trans cause he kept doin it. His new trans has lasted 5 times as long since he stopped.

As far as tranny upgrading, if ur not looking to build the car fully and just wanna turbo it, a tranny cooler is good enough. Auto dont put out enough power for the NEED to upgrade, Unless you have some good experience with cars i strongly suggest goin to ipt trans or level 10 or watever reputable trans shop to have these things done.

I believe the valve body would have been the culprit giving way 1st as the hydraulic lines would be clogged and stuck. The rest of the internals followed. Proper maintenance and check is key when stressing the engine or tranny.

Good advice nevertheless

Yep.

Auto sticking an auto is def. not a good idea. It wears away at the tranny a lot.

And wow. I'm glad there's actually responses to my write up unlike at yoursciontc.... :D

dare I go for a sticky with this topic?
